What If Your Car Is Automatic Can We Puch It To Start Too?? Anyone Has An Answer For This? wasted_23 August 18th, 2005, 09:53 AM nope! you have to install a new battery or i-series(?) sa ibang battery. oj88 August 18th, 2005, 10:04 AM Short answer: No. Long answer: In theory, if you can push it fast enough (typically 30+ Mph) for the oil pressure to build up, it might produce the necessary torque to turn the engine. That's assuming it has an output pump, which is said to be only available on 50's and 60's automatics. Tips when you drive an automatic: 1. Only use the best quality and largest capacity car battery you can afford that will fit in your car. 2. Have the charging system checked from time to time, or during every scheduled maintenance check-up of your car. 3. Include jumper cables in your toolkit. sinski_toybikes August 18th, 2005, 12:54 PM so i got the point it will not start even if i give it a big push..so like in a 1.6 sedan they install a 1sm battery tama b? anu difference if i install 2sm batts? would it last longer? and how much ba mag pa charge ng battery? any idea? GSChan August 18th, 2005, 01:59 PM Sinski, You can't push start an automatic. Hindi kasi kakagat yung torque converter ng transmission sa flywheel ng makina. Mga bagong oto 1SM lang ang kadalasan ginagamit but if a 2SM battery will fit you can go for that instead. Yung ampere rating ng 2SM mas mataas and the reserve charge is longer as compared to the physically smaller 1SM battery. Also be careful with the hood clearnace of the 2SM battery. It might fit the battery tray but if the terminals touch the hood when you close it you'll have major problems. (Sunog!) As for charging, usually 50 Pesos ang charge ng mga battery shops, but kung meron ka kilalang talyer, abutan mo na lang ng pang sopdrinks at yosi. :D sinski_toybikes August 18th, 2005, 03:24 PM can you recharge a maintenace free battery? or is it disposable? anu bang magandang battery i use motolite kc,may mas matagal pba dito with a cheap competitive price? thanx for the reply guys vanveen1 August 27th, 2005, 12:50 PM I have push started cars with automatic transmissions, however you need another car to do it because it has to be fast like the previous posters said, probably 20 to 30 kmh, if you have another car at your disposal get some booster cables and jump it sinski_toybikes August 27th, 2005, 12:59 PM really how do you do it? so i hook up a cable to my car and let it run for 20-30? where should i put the shift gear to drive or nuetral? |
