 Yesterday i entered the e-pass lane in the filinvest entrance on my way to carmona. The sensor attached to the roof of the tollbooth was down and the guy in front of the tollbooth was waving all e-pass users to go on. so all cars did pull thru including me. Along the Slex I was thinking... Wait a minute.. how would they know if I entered the Filinvest entrance or Nichols entrance so I called the e-pass office (7767676) thru my cellphone and I was gonna ask them about my problem they listened to my question and put me and hold.... after about 5 mins of waiting i was on the carmona exit offramp so i had to hang up and decided to go to the CASH/COUPON lane. I told the teller that their sensor was down so i have decided to pay cash of P2.50 instead. She told me that she can't open the gate and that i have to back up and use the e-pass lane so about 8 cars backed up causing a big commotion. Then I asked her so What now am i gonna be charged the nichols entrance rate of about 50 pesos? She says "yes you were charged but it will be adjusted in your monthly bill".
.... Still unconvinced with her explanation I called their office The next day. I was curious about the details of this cause this happened to me a few weeks ago. So I called their office. I asked the supervisor why wasn't last month's adjustment is not on my bill? He says that accounting is still on the month of February and I will get my adjustment around 6 months from now. This threw me off my chair since thousands of cars passed thru filinvest entrance daily and so many people were cheated off their e-pass bills cause of this. It would total to hundreds of thousands or could be a million or more pesos!! in their bank account all unexplained income. I asked the supervisor what happens to those people who don't complain? ... He couldn't answer anything!!! He really pissed me off ...and the usual " I'm dumb that's it!!" you can't do anything about it attitude has got to stop!! REALLY PNCC IS FULL OF ****:I

It seems that Filinvest is the center of a lot of PNCC scams. This should really be published in the newspapers.

Which reminds me, When I was in Hospital I could see SLEX from my window. Anyone know why most of the trucks heading towards Makati stop at a little booth under the Filinvest bridge?

the whole idea of the e-pass as it is being used here is a scam! you pay in advance and what do you get? a few minutes gained! that's all. you don't even get any extra benefits and services. what do they get; mucho dinero in terms of interest. think about it; you have not yet used the tollway and yet you've already paid. wow!

what's worse, these g@wd-forsaken hudlums "reserve" lanes for e-pass users making the traffic worse, which in turn makes it more difficult of e-pass users to get to the reserved lanes. nagbayad ka na ng advance, yung unting time na dapat na-gain mo e nawala rin!

Most exits don't even have an ePass lane!

They also make extra money because they need less staff and the staff can't steal the money.

In Hong Kong they have an "Octopus" card. It looks like a credit card but works by just passing it close to a sensor. You pay HK$50 deposit (which you can use) and then add as much as you like when you like by feeding cash or your etc/atm/credit card into a machine that adds it immediately. No silly phone calls dialling dozens of numbers.

There is not only no charge for using it but you actually get a discount on fares compared with buying a ticket for each trip.

The PNCC charge you 2,000 pesos for the gadget, (for 2 years) then much of the time it doesn't work and then they rip you off by charging for trips you never did. Looks like a pretty good scam they have going.

i have know idea about this........in fact, i have almost the same question.......'why most of the southbound container vans/ trailers stop at a little booth just right at the skyway ramp in magallanes near shell select?'.......just curious.

Its either a rip-off or an unreliabe system they got. I might even guess its incompetent system maintenance too.

i'm not sure about this, but i think it has something to do with the weight of the trucks that pass through the slex. prior to their release at the harbors, i think the vans are weighed and given a certificate regarding this. i think they give a copy of said certificate to that booth you see. that's for the bridges along the slex which can only carry a certain tonnage at a time...

again, i'm not sure about this, but 80%, that's it.... ;)
