I have the same questions too about the maintenance. You can join the forum at ducati.com.ph but its not so active like the forum we have here. i have posted there and the owner toti invited me for a test ride! Anyone intrested in a blue 1999 R1 w fender eliminator, steel lines, clear double bubble, and new tires for P360k ? the R1 is too fast for me! joel July 4th, 2005, 08:22 AM Basic maintenance of a ducati is no more difficult than any other bike. May it be oil change, brake fluid, chain adjustment, coolant and stuff like that anyone that is willing to learn can do it with a good manual for the bike and the proper set of tools. Its also satisfying to do your own work. For the major tune up its best that you get a qualified tech to do the job but it does cost more than your ordinary japanese sportbike. good luck duc44 July 4th, 2005, 11:03 PM I think it's not that expensive because you only have two cylinders so you'll just need two sparkplugs (300/pc at access), oil filter costs P800 I think plus oil of your choice. But I think you only have to bring your bike to Access Plus if you need to mess around with ecu, and valve adjustment other than that it's basically easy to maintain. 10000 km is the recommended valve adjustment interval, I think my average mileage is less than 5000 km so my valve adjustment will be every two years. That's not bad is it? Another advantage is parts are readily available, a bit expensive but at least it's available.
