View Full Version : BIKERS JACKET na water proof meron ba?
racepro June 12th, 2005, 06:28 PM ask lang fellow riders ,ngayon rainy season need to have a jacket
that can withstand any rain ( tuyo pa rin panloob mo kahit malakas ulan)
were can i buy it and how much? :(
Idstrazzen June 12th, 2005, 08:56 PM If you have Php6K for starters, YES!.
You can buys jackets made of Cordura...tried and tested on heavy down pours. Downside, too bulky to lug around.
I guess you have water-proof pants already cause you asked about jackets only.
If you forgot the lower part then you spend a total of over Php10K for ups & downs.
If you find this option too steep then there are cheaper options below Php3K to keep you dry from the rain...PVC!!!.
I've read from several riders buying these from SM for Php500...as for me I keep dry using a one piece suit by Teknic...keeps me dry in the horniest of weathers :bouncy: easy to carry everyday in case...in CASE and in case it suddenly pours!.
Good Luck & Keep Dry.
jawfree June 13th, 2005, 03:48 PM sa SM surplus, dami weather proof jacket, maporma na pati. mga 600 to 700
rtm June 16th, 2005, 12:41 PM I read somewhere that weather-proof clothing needs to be dry cleaned. If you do regular washing, it will lose its waterproofness.
Hardliner June 16th, 2005, 05:33 PM one time i got this waterproof jacket. but our laundrywoman handwashed it so the waterproofing was peelled off.
ok naman i-handwash basta huwag lang yung sobrang kiskis. mada-damage yung waterproofing niya. no no din sa washing machine.
wasted_23 June 16th, 2005, 06:08 PM ung gamit ko, parang rubberized na plastic. 2 piece sya bought it for p600+ sa exceed... pag malapitan lang naman, poncho gamit ko. p200+ lang pero mejo makapal sya at ndi disposable. sa divisoria ko pinabili..... i can say that both gear keeps me dry kahit malakas ang ulan.
always keep your rain gear handy... you'll never know when it's gonna rain. lalo na sa gabi. ;)

your ryt, that's y i don't wash it too often. d naman bumabaho. minsan pag medyo smelly na, ihahanger ko then spray lang, walang kusot sabon konti. and whoala! pwede na uli pang ride.
mutoy June 28th, 2005, 10:11 AM @Idstrazzen
how much mo na score 1 pc mo?
@jawfree
sir ano yung ini-spray mo sa jaket?
TIA.
dracko June 28th, 2005, 12:46 PM Gamit ko Gore-tex product ng The North Face.....subok ko na sa malakas na ulan.........I got it for only US $48 sa Ho Chi Minh Vietnam, jacket and pants na.......sa may Shangrila Plaza sa Mandaluyong it cost around P6,000 pero jacket lang.....hindi masyado bulky at pwede pa dalhin araw araw....Hindi rin mainit kapag wala na ulan....parang ordinary jacket lang......
tukayo June 28th, 2005, 01:03 PM I have a Komine 2-piece rain gear. Got it from Action Hobbies for 2500.
Hardliner June 28th, 2005, 01:55 PM bought the waterproof jacket sa sm surplus shop, ganda.

tukayo July 5th, 2005, 11:38 AM Trendy
Coming from Abad Santos, pagtawid mo ng Recto may traffic light.

Sir Mutoy, spray lang po from sprayhose, lagyan ko powder soap konti then rinse by spray, then spray uli ng downy at banlaw lang uli by spray.
trendy08 July 6th, 2005, 01:17 PM thanks tukayo. will try to go there one time.
Daddy G August 31st, 2005, 05:53 PM I have a Komine 2-piece rain gear. Got it from Action Hobbies for 2500.
sir may pics ka nyan Komine rain gear?
jackhammer August 31st, 2005, 06:20 PM imho, for the budget conscious i suggest you buy a good enough kapote to wear over your amored jacket & pants. this way you only need to spend for one set of safety gear... not unless rich ka talaga.
prob na lang is yung sapatos. bota is a good alternative... but best siguro is like those of komine na worth P4k...ish ang price. waterproof and steel-toed na rin. medyo mainit lang daw... pero syempre what's important is protected ka.
Yahoo! :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: =b =b :D :D
dexterslab69 September 1st, 2005, 12:47 PM I have only come across one product that you can use all throughout the year: Darien Jacket / pants sold by Aerostich. It will keep you dry from the heaviest downpour and warm on the coldest day. I think it also has some provisions for protectors. Very expensive (about 30K+++ for jacket alone) but well worth it.

@HunterG and Jawfree,
EagleOne September 4th, 2005, 12:45 AM Here is my rainwear during wet rides, i have a kamikaze pants na thick nylon (1800php) this is my riding pants for every ride, also works as a rain pants because the water doesn't get in my legs, then i bought a poncho that i wear on top on my riding jacket. poncho i like it because it is easy to put-on and taken-off, when the rain stops and it gets hot it only took me 5 seconds to take it off. then i store it at the back pocket of my komine riding jacket.
It is correct that you dont need to speed too much on a raingear, just find the one that serves its purpose, just spend your money on good quality armored jacket, knee guard, leather gloves and good helmet to which your life depends on to those. besides we don't need to be fashionable when riding in the rain, who's gonna you at you anyway?

Badtrip, laba ulit! Pero maganda talga sya sa ulan. DI ka talga nabbasa pati phone and wallet mo. Init nga lang.:D
