Carting brand helmet (Taiwan)

i am looking for a not so expensive helmet but also of qood quality.
has anyone used or owned this brand of helmet? naka-indicate at the back is DOT which claims it is DOT certified helmets. they are priced similarly like INDEX brands and the quality seem like the same as that of the INDEX helmets.

i searched this forum and i am surprised to get no results for such. is this such a new product and nobody here seem to be using one?

never heard of that before!

there are many branded helmets that are not so expensive and DOT certified like, HJC and Zeus.

well, i had the inkling to buy one for short city trips use and i find the quality of this carting brand ok too. will be using this for a while until i can save to buy myself a half face HJC helmet (or probably index).

BTW, this particular helmet i got is not an MC helmet, but indicated in the box are symbols for cycling, skating, and skateboarding. it is definitely lightweight, very comfortable to use, and has several wire mesh for proper airflow. i would prefer to use this one rather than wear that helmet that came free with the scooter i got.

got this for P600 at indy in caloocan.

The half face MC helmets for this brand costs around P1800 dun sa INDY.

Hey there dude! I'm from Zamboanga City and right now just after 3 months of the release of Carting off-road helmets, I can say its now sharing the likes of INDEX off-road helmets.

I mean, right here in our city, INDEX off-road helmet is the "IN" right now, almost everyone has one. But Carting, because of the affordable price, same as INDEX's, is now gaining popularity too.

Basing from this, I can say Carting helmet is OK.
Hope this helps!

oh thanks... that's good to know. i think instead of buying an index, it would be a choice between HJC and the carting brand half face MC helmet.
I like the style of the carting half face helmet, which, incidentally has a very similar or probably exact design with index. (yung mukhang full face helmet pag nakababa yung lens cover)

medyo popular na nga ang index as imitations of this brand is now proliferating in the sidewalks of raon and being sold for P900 (pwede pa tawad) for the full face helmets.

hey der junno...carting helmets i THINK are not DOT/SNELL CERTIFIED....there is no such marking in the box or even at the bag of the helmet brand to prove that its a DOT certified...although it has a sticker that indicates a DOT sign...but we all know bwt these imitation helmets specially the off road helmets...safety???i doubt it...porma siguro pwede...

but the looks and the cool graphix are awesome...it looks like an HJC model...index designs does not matches with carting's brand by far...IMHO.

Bro I dont think na safe tayo nito sa pag totormots natin kasi this is indicated for Skating and isa pa kung mapapansin mo exposed ang tenga mo and specially the mandibular area much more ang panga at mga ipin mo. This prompted me to look for full face helmets and di yung half face lang kasi ayaw kung naka ratay sa ospital na walang ipin kung saka sakali mang ma mudmud ang nguso ko. So I went to the same store na kinunan ko nitong gamit ko ngayon na helmet and saw another Carting Full Face na Helmet. Ang ganda parang Index 911 na may horn and daming ventilation. Two things lang medyo problema ko. Yung mga horns eh medyo naka uka yung mga pagkakadikit pero puwede mong i press ang mga naka uka na parts and sticks well. Second is wala akong makitang DOT sa box or sa Helmet. Sa looks magandang maganda at ang fit is superb.Pulido ang pagkakagawa sa mga Carting yun lang pagkakadikit sa FullFace sa mga horns pero nung mai-dikit ko na lapat na lapat na at di na umuka.

@sixpackabs,

I'm planning to buy this kind of helmet next month. maganda rin ang quality nya. hulmadong hulmado sa face ko :-)

Carting helmets seems to be everywhere.....

i've seen a lot of them in the stores around here...here's what i've found out:
1. they are made in taiwan..according to the store owner.
2. Shell is made of ABS plastic.
3. equipped with good EPS.
4. removable/washable cheeck pads & inner liner.
5. nice design..full face helmets copied from NITRO helmets
6. lightweight & fairly priced....

i'm thinking of getting one for short rides....

i got one....
here's my initial assessment...
> it's lighter, and the shell is a bit smaller than my HJC CL-14, and KBC TK-77
> it weighs more or less the same with my Zeus 803

i'll use it for a week...and post my review later

nabuhay uli tong thread na to after 4 months ah? :D

all my helmets are CARTING...

yes, for a fairly-priced helmet, it's the best there is for me. graphic designs are not as loud & fancy but they're attractive enough. yep, NITRO and SHARK are its copysakes... they have cheapos at P1.8K and have class A's at P2.5K... paddings are well structured. ang tagal mag sag ng foam even if they're washed frequently. i have a full-faced Carting that's been with me for almost 2 years na... my newest Carting is the half-face SHARK-themed Class A carbon-fiber finish. very light. the trademark snug-fit is there despite it's open-face design. the lense/visor is good. tinted enough but you can clearly see at night.

the recent models have laminated CARTING logo at the back, not stick-on. it should well guarantee its "originality". it comes with a tot bag, a warranty card and a DOT certification. priced less than P3K... not bad for an expensive-looking helmet...

@NSCB.... so, you finally got that carbon-fiber Carting eh? dun ba sa sinabi ko sa 'yong shop? mura dun, di ba?

bros, im working at tobys and we sell carting helmets, the price is sreally similar to index which i approved you of the same quality, personally im using the carting 808 (helmet model) the brand is new in the market, i assure you that only tobys sports is the solely exclusive distributor of carting in the mall right now. and we find the fast turn over of this item when it comes to sale. maybe its because of the variety of design that will best fits your moods, comfortability, as well as talking about the quality when it comes to safety. i've watch the video when they presented me this item showing a heavy hard metal pipe dropped vertically to the said item and i was suprised and convinced that the item tremendously pass the test. so for those who wants safety for their ride carting helmets is the one. come visit tobys sports for your ride requirements for carting helmets holds the word "safety".

I also have the half-face (white) with iridium visor. Bought it for P1800 dyan sa MC accesories shop sa may likod ng National bookstore Quezon Avenue. I've been using it for almost 4 months now. It's fits just right on my big head. it used to be a little bit uncomfortable kasi medyo masikip sa ulo but after a couple of weeks ok na sya. The check pads doesn't sag even if i use it everyday. washable yung check pads at paddings sa loob. it's tinted enough that you can use it at night and it's comfortable enough to reduce glare and heat during day time use. I like yung Carting label, laminated sya including yung DOT sa likod. I'll try to post a picture later.

I might get another one, but this time yung full face at yung carbon fiber finish.

To those from Baguio, the carting helmet is available at SM City Baguio, at Tobys. The half face costs PHP800 while the full face goes for PHP1600... Better looking models go as high as 3k...! So, its Taiwan made, no wonder I can't understand the english on the customer guide leaflet....They must have translated it from chinese to english word for word... !

Written on the maintenance and cleaning guide: "4. Please do not run the goggle with hard thing, you can wash it with the clear water. When it comes to dry, you can cerc it, the result is better."......Do you guys understand it?? If you do, please translate....Hindi ko maintindihan!!!

I used to have one dati., yung half-faced helmet na iridium lens.
great ventilation., and removable inner liners., and ang ganda ng fit.
wash it everytime you want kasi removable naman yung inner liners eh.
medyo may kabigatan nga lang sya.
I've replaced it though., switched to full-faced index helmets.
things to say to those who's planning to have this helmets., it's a good buy.
with it's price., okay na sya pang short distance lang.

@ Sir NSCB......nice to know that you find the Carting brand a good one.......ur right na mas maliit ang shell nya compared to HJC & Zeus......pansin ko lang is mainit sya & not so good ang vents......and yet, ok sya for that price.......madali nga lang mapunit yung sa pinakabase ng cushion nya.....yung may plastic/synthetic leather type na material.....madali syang lum***** in due time.........ok din as everyday-short ride helmet..:)

BTW.....good someone make clarifications if such brand is really DOT certified???

the newer models have a DOT cert attachment to it. it comes with the warranty card & owner's kit... me helmet bag pa kasama.

my 2 carting helmets are all less than a year pa. wala pang mga signs of retirement, ika nga. yung isa ko, looks like it has seen better days already! yun yung bumigay na ang leatherette cushion wrap. pero ang foams, maganda pa rin despite years ko nang ginagamit... dami na ring chips ang shell 'paint' (pero pansin ko, di sya pintura, para syang laminated graphic sticker na heat-treated dinikit sa buong helmet...). mainit? opo... tama si col. ted... but tolerable naman ang ventilation nya...

am still using it regularly... :)

mga sirs, DOT certified na po ba talaga yung carting brand? How about po yung Index? Certified din po ba ito?

can't say that Carting & Index are "truly" DOT certified. actually, we don't have means of knowing it exactly because there is no public proof that indeed they are. walang listing kase. we are just bound to entrust our consumer rights to believe on a particular product as per their claims. if Carting & Index are DOT certified as they claim they are, well, i guess we just have to rely on that. but one thing for sure... many are using them and are vouching of their quality din naman. for us people who are in tighter budget, i guess the best value for the money we could get is either of these 2 helmet brands. and am sure there are other brands out there din which are as equally good and practically priced.
