View Full Version : Newbie Riding Gear
jun_isa68 May 5th, 2005, 05:55 PM Help me, I'm a newbie and would like to use some basic safety gears.
Ano po ba ung mga protective gears na pwede nyo i-suggest sa mga beginner na tulad ko, at the same time ala masyado budget, but would like to have gears at least. I believe it's better na mayroon kahit mura lang kaysa talagang wala, diba. Then when the funds come, I'll be able to buy better stuff. Tnx.

enjoy ........
nano_zpeed May 5th, 2005, 10:01 PM wag mo paghinayangan na mag invest sa safety gears.. unahin mo yung helmet.. full face and as much as possible, yung snell or dot certified.. yan ang isa sa pinaka-basic protection mo..
next is jacket.. yung tipog maproprotekthan ang katawan mo sa extreme weather d2 sa pinas.. good if u can invest on thos padded jackets (which costs around 4500 sa action hobbies - komine jackets)..
dami p gears pero the above i mentioned is necessity.. its 4 ur own protection na din naman.
motor_head May 5th, 2005, 10:43 PM dude,
action hobbies - petron connecticut corner edsa
motoworld - karport opposite shell gas station at the fort.
tama silang lahat, get a helmet DOT at a minimum, SNELL cert masmaganda.
body armor...just in case.
ride safe

nasabi na nila pero uulitin ko pa uli :D
1. full face dot snell ece certified helmet - try zeus or hjc
2. jacket - bought mine a more than a year ago - mga 5K - komine shoulder, back and elbow padding...mesh kasi mainit dito sa pinas.
3. elbow and knee shin pads - scoyco is ok - i've seen someone spill and got protected by these... yup, mga P 1,500 siya - ask accs (forum member of exceed motors) kung meron pa siya kasi it sells like hotcakes...
4. hi-cut boots - kung la kang pambili ng riding boots basta protected ang ankles and toes mo.
5. rain gear - alam ko it's not yet the rainy season pero you don't know when it will rain...
6. gloves - preferably with knuckle protectors - to protect your hands and knuckles at syempre kung may **** - to knock him out with (pero wag naman sana mangyari - di ko pa naman nagagamit ang gloves ko to do this) ;)
ipon lang bro - first the helmet, then kung medyo steep ang jacket - try the elbow and knee shin protectors, the gloves then the shoes.
believe me, they have saved a lot of riders from injuries or from serious to fatal ones.
if you want, check out exceed motors - land line: 3622665 or 09163848751 and look for allan (accs) located at rizal ave. extension between 8th and 9th avenue - from monumento it's on your right side.
good luck bro!

gilemee May 6th, 2005, 06:09 AM jun isa 68,
Suggestion:
1. HJC helmet CL14 (4,000.00) sa JT trading (Taft). Kung may extra budget pa change the face shield to tinted (1,000.00)
2. UFO elbow pads (1,500.00) and knee pads (top of the line knee pads 2,800.00) sa JT trading.
3. Gloves (1,200.00) sa Activmoto sa Bicutan (Market Market). Carbon fiber na knuckles nito. Kung may extra budget, either Joe Rocket (2,800.00) or Komine GK445 (4500 or 5500, sorry i dont recall the exact price).
Pag may extra budget na:
1. Joe Rocket Phoenix 3 padded jacket (8,500.00) or UFO hard armor (10,400.00).
2. Teknic leather armor (15,000.00) for the humpback leather jacket and 7,500.00 for the pants. Got mine during sale sa Libis, so not sure of the exact price.
3. Boots, Joe Rocket Speedmaster 2 (14,000.00) or Gaerne GR-S (16,000.00)
Hope that helps! SAFE RIDE!!!
Suzuki Katana GS750 83'
Kawasaki ZZR 400 97'
Piaggio Hexagon 97'

Hardliner May 6th, 2005, 01:42 PM basic protection:
1. full face helmet - good and affordable brands (zeus, hjc)
2. jacket - at least a denim, but this will only give you a very minimal protection. try the following good and affordable brands with shoulder, back, arm and elbow protection (komine, rs taichi)
3. full fingered gloves - mx gloves will do and are cheaper (scoyco brand is affordable). for real protection, gloves must have knuckles protection and padded on the fingers (brands like komine or tracks are affordable)
for additional protection, you need:
1. riding boots
2. knee and sheen protector (scoyco brand is cheapest, i think)
3. hip protector
4. body armor (includes shoulder, arms, elbow and back protection)
5. leather riding suit (best body protection)
elmo May 6th, 2005, 05:05 PM ang dami na!
advice ko lang eh do not ever get tired of wearing the gears mentioned above. some are really costly that a rider hesitates to wear it as a daily get up wag manghinayang! ;)
