What do you think are the ADVANTAGES of wearing gloves while riding and DISADVANTAGES, if any.

This will help a lot of riders out there who hasn't consider having a pair of gloves as part of their armoury while riding, including me. =b

gloves are additional safety.. tsaka para nde ka din mangitim yung mga kamay kaka-ride ng motor..

one disadvantage i see is that pag naka gloves ka, parang nde mo feel yung grip sa handle bar ng motor.. you could try this.. nakakapanibago sa una.. lalo pa kung nasanay ka na walang gloves.

pero mas recomended ang may gloves.. protection mo n din yun eh..

yeah, added protection sya ... para din di ginawin sa hangin, problema ko lng sa gloves pag mababayad ng parking fees let's say sa mall ... mahirap mangapa ng barya, kelangan ko pa tanggalin ang gloves :D

advantages:
protection from the sun
protection from the wind (para di mapasma)
protection from flying debris (insects, pebbles - during high speed runs)
protection when taking a spill.
ergonomical (hindi ka masyadong kakalyuhin)

disadvantages:
hand smells (maasim kapag luma na gloves)
hirap dumukot sa pants (para kumuha po ng baryang pambayad po)

another disadavtage is you need an added time to get it on especially those tight racing gloves in addition to the time you have to spend in wearing your helmet and other gears before you ride your bike. mas marami kanang routine...

pero kung nagmamadali talaga and you need speed to get to your destination ASAP, better wear it nalang for safety reasons 'coz the time you spend just to wear it before riding can compensate to the speed that you need.

Pero overall, its great to wear gloves while riding, even just around town.:banana:

advantage:
* iwas kalyo, yung iba may kalyo na saka lang bibili ng gloves
* sun protection, bibili lang dahil yung kamay black tapos yung arm brown
* ASTIG! maporma tignan kahit plain na black lang

disadvantage
* hirap kumuha ng pera, lalo na kung ikaw ang magbabayad sa drive thru at hindi ang backride na chick jk jk jk!!!
* hirap magkamot ng likod (walang feelings) o kahit anong kakamutin kahit sa chick hehehe
* hindi maka-fast-kulangot eh pano kung fullface? masmahirap
* pag nasanay kang may gloves parang masakit na pag barehands na ang humawak sa throttle (hahanaphanapin mo na)
* added time to wear. warm-up mo na yung bike, while wearing your gears para pag kumpleto na "let get it on!!!"

ADVANTAGES
- it serves as a sunblock
- iwas kalyo
- protection from sugat if ever you had a spill
- for self-defense purposes (kung may hard knuckle ang gloves)
- for better grip (kung pawisin ang kamay mo)
- make your hands cleaner (kung malinis din ang loob ng gloves)

DISADVANTAGES
- disabling your sense of touch
- mainit sa kamay
- mas dumadami ang routine before you take off and touch down

gloves are protective gears, even tricycle drivers needs them!... i saw this tricycle na umendo, lipad yun piloto, subsob, syempre, the normal tendency is to protect the head/face kaya una kamay... yuks! TUCINO!... these riding gloves and i mean the RIGHT ones - have the pads in the RIGHT PLACES - palm, knuckles, sides - because these are the 'usual' places that get hurt... even those sheen-guards are necessary.

i don't see ANY disadvantage - maybe inconvinient at times - but not a disadvantage... pre, pag-napababag ka nga, may PETCHA KORNO ka na agad :nuts: !

I guess gloves are a must have after all. Bukas na bukas din maghahanap ako, hopefully by tomorrow I'll have them gloves.

Gloves, it's for protection, period!
