View Full Version : Car wax as helmet polisher, pwede? nareh February 17th, 2005, 12:54 AM Mga bro,May bgo akong helmet zeus 508W-X1,pwede kayang gamitin yung turtle car wax as polisher para shine sya palagi at may extra protection din sya? Dick Steele February 17th, 2005, 12:57 AM I dont see why not. mythus February 17th, 2005, 01:00 AM yap me too.. :punk: used it in cleaning/polishing the lens... ;) R-1 February 17th, 2005, 01:03 AM when my zeus was new i remember it had a tag with a warning not to put any STICKERS on the helmet. My zeus' color is flat silver, i assume the warning means the sticker will damage the finish, but i dont know about wax. i wax my other glossy finish helmets wout any problems. jeff_o February 17th, 2005, 12:10 PM yup i always do that. just don't put too much wax on it. yung tamang kapal lang ng pahid. para di ka mahirapan magbuff :) Wolver888 February 17th, 2005, 12:35 PM Yep pwedeng pwede. Of course a car wax can be used as a helmet wax and a car polish can be used as helmet polish. FYI, ang tamang step sa car ay clean, polish then wax. Sa helmet ganoon din pero pwede mo na skip ang polish kasi baka over na. elmo February 17th, 2005, 02:26 PM pwede po! but not that often.... :R jawfree February 17th, 2005, 04:40 PM depende sa helmet siguro... according to pongkie shawie "Well some helmet manufacturer says that every sticker must have adhesive of some type to hold it on, and adhesives have solvents in them that aid the sticking process. If the solvents are incompatible with the helmet shell they can possibly attack the plastic, weakening it. The plastic will "craze" with zillions of tiny cracks running in all directions. The damage may not be highly visible, particularly since it is covered by the sticker. And the weaker plastic may or may not ever make a difference in a crash, depending on where you hit. And another debate would be the sliding resistance of the helmet itself. Of course you want your helmet to slide easily when you hit the pavement and helmet manufacturers says that if you put stickers on your lid with a rough sticker on it probably slides less well. Again this is what the lid manufacturers says regarding putting stickers on your lid.. but if you'd ask me.. stickers can add up visibility specially if the sticks are the reflectorized ones. " <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->well it's about stickers, but the point here is the chemical used in car wax. pwede ba to sa outer shell ng helmet??? my ZEUS don't allow any chemical on outer shell. just mild soap and water. nareh February 18th, 2005, 12:49 AM Tama ka jawfree, mild soap lang daw., tapos may nk-sulat sa manual na avoid petroleum based solvent,eh yung turtle wax merong petrolleum distillates contents. suzer February 18th, 2005, 01:07 AM Mga bro,May bgo akong helmet zeus 508W-X1,pwede kayang gamitin yung turtle car wax as polisher para shine sya palagi at may extra protection din sya? bro how much yang helmet mo? 29pnoy February 18th, 2005, 02:19 AM Kami ni pareng Juntan, ang panlinis namin ng helmet, Scotch Brite ! ..hehe.. ano nga, pareng Juntan ? tapos pwede pang gamiting air filter..hehe..
