mga bro,

how do you leave or lock your helmet on the bike to avoid thievery? medyo, pagod na kasi akong magdala ng full-face helmet ko everywhere i go. gusto ko namang e-leave nalang helmet ko sa bike ko without much worries. furthermore, how do you protect it when the rain comes? baka kasi maging tabo na helmet mo pagbalik mo.

any tips from you guys will be highly appreciated. i know many of you have already experimented about this issue... :) thanx!!!

i put my full-face helmet inside the Nouvo's compartment.

buy a scooter that has a compartment big enough to fit the whole helmet inside! ive seen many.

dont clean the helmet, the odor might discourage would be thieves hehe. jk lng.

if you leave the helmet on the bike, you can wrap it in plastic to protect from rain.

me, i also leave it with the package counter sa malls, but sometimes the attendant will ask you where you are going.

when i leave it at the counter i wrap my bandana around the visor to protect from scratches and fingerprints :)

Binago ko ung frame of mind ko regarding my helmet. Lagi kong dala where ever I go, I bought it from hard earned money kaya may malasakit ako na wag iwanan sa mc kase maraming magnanakaw.

The best advise is really to leave it at the counter sa mga malls. use the helmet bag that came with the helmet to protect your lid. and done tleve the pachage counter untile the attendant has put the helmey in its proper place. sometimes kasi pinabagsak-bagsak lang. at least when you're there iingatan muna...

If there'se no counter available ...wala talaga youhave to bring it with you...actually I enjoy going nto fine dining restaurants..and then ploppin my helmet, armour and gloves beside me..medyo astig ang dating...

protect your helmet..its an investment..I should know..I had My lid stollne at the Alabang town center...

Pareng Alitaptap...nakita mo na ba yung kumag..hehehe

very well said mr. dangerous. you are damn right! cge mula ngayon babagohin ko na mindset ko. besides, i don't really hate bringing my helmet with me 'coz sometimes it can start a conversation. it's just that there are times na gusto ko talaga e toss helmet ko pag maraming dala. hirap rin talaga ako sometimes pag may quick formal meetings somewhere. kailangan mo pa makiusap sa security guard para lang iwan mo helmet mo sa kanya. parang di yata "in", naka formal business attire tas may dala helmet. napagtawanan na ako nyan at buti nalang mga friends ko sila. sagot ko naman, presyong cellfone ang helmet ko, hehehe! ang iba persons naman na ka meeting mo, dini-degrade ka kasi naka motor ka lang though i don't really mind them... pero sometimes kailangan talaga na wala clang helmet na makita to gain some sophistication and respect. di mo kasi maalis-alis ang old concept na most bikers are "bad boys" and "self-centered beast," so hirap ka in winning them to your point.

but as you all were saying, you affirmed that the best choice out there is to bring your helmet with you so let's all do that. that's a signatured responsibility of a biker. di kaya mag selos ang other half natin nyan, mas dinadala pa natin helmet natin kahit saan tayo magpunta kaysa sa kanila... :O

Just another suggestion: buy a big backpack (rucksack, knapsack, etc.) and bring it along with you. I do it and it works all the time. There's a Hawk bag (about Php 1,200) available in dept stores that fits a full helmet plus your armored jacket and gloves. Heck, it'll even fit your vanity items plus your backride's bag! :bouncy: It can get heavy though, so invest in a good pair of riding boots that will double as walkers. (Hmm, I think my suggestion is pretty darn expensive...)

One more thing, don't mind those people who think that riding a motorcycle is the same as commuting on the racing public buses on EDSA. They simply don't have the guts to ride one! They just hide behind their prejudices but deep down inside, they're thinking "how I wish I wasn't a sissy!". :M

that is also my problem carrying my helmet, sometimes my helmet and my wifes helmet pa. so we leave it nga sa package counter ng malls or grocery. i will never leave my helmet locked in my bike, friend ko kasi ni-lock sa d-ring nung strap ng helmet nya, it turned out na pinutol yung strap ng helmet to steal it. i know someone din na while eating sa jollibee the guy left his helmet sa ilalim ng chair nya, pag tayo at pag tingin nya wala na helmet nya sa ilalim. so guys pag tyagaan na lang natin bitbitin lids natin.

may pic ka ba nyan bro? akala ko, walang handy na backpack to accomodate that, mayroon pala. na try ko na kasing ilagay helmet ko sa regular backpack but it won't fit...

you got them there bro! excuse lang talaga nila na e degrade mga bikers kasi di talaga nila kaya ang ginagawa natin. we are man enough to face the fear.

Yep, I leave my helmet on package counters too, tapos sibat sa kabila.:D :D :D

But if I am going to a place where there is no package counters, I lock the strap and carry my helmet around, specially if your fullface helmet is clean and shiny.;)

talagang dine-degrade ng mga cagers kapag nalaman nilang biker ka. pagpasensyahan nyo na mga ganyan kasi di sila nakakaintindi.. ako i'm proud to be a biker kaya ok sa'kin pag dala ko helmet ko. kapag may nag-attempt or nagparamdam na minamaliit nila ako, i immediately respond in straight slang english when i talk to them. there's a surprised look in their faces everytime i do that. :D by the way, i'm working in a call-center. dun ko natutunan magsalita ng slang, kasama sa training namin yan eh. hehe!

Ha! Another one for the call center bikers!

I had the nasty experience of losing my lid too. Was in a rush kasi malapit na akong ma late sa isang exam. Had to leave it on my ride. I thought it was ok coz it was parked RIGHT IN FRONT of the guard on duty.

When I got back wala na. The guard said wala daw silang alam kung anong nangyari. :W

Lesson learned: ALWAYS BRING YOUR LIDS WITH YOU.

in cebu sa motorcycle parking lot ng shoemart, the people there just leave their helmets, goggles, gloves and stuff on thier bikes in the parking lot! when they return, their stuff is still there!
But of course i havent seen a shoie or arai helmet being left there.

me i never leave my helmet lock up in my scoot. first someone would just snap the strap and get the helmet, second is someone will sit on the scoot and eventually scratch the colored lid of my helmet.....ingat ako sa helmet ko so i just bring it along with me, head turner nga when your helmet is tucked between your hands and body esp. at restos....napapatingin talaga mga tao.

yep minsan maganda rin tingin ng iba kapag may bitbit kang helmet. lalo na kapag well polished and with smoked visor.

i don't put my lid inside my backpak coz that's were my laptop is. i just sling it on the loop on top of my backpak. it's nice to look at coz i've seen one rider with his extra lid on his backpak.

right bro, e kasi naman ang mga ni leave na helmets doon ay 'yong di naman DOT or snell approved. marami ay helmets na pang mountain bike at hard hats na pang construction. di pa kasi masyadong educated ang mga bikers sa cebu kung gaano ka importante ang right helmet for motorcycling. when somebody asks me about my helmet and they found the price, they would respond that for them it's impractical. then when i say my point, parang di pa rin cla interested kasi ang nakikita nila is ang presyo lamang, not the importance of self-preservation. but i understand, the crisis is part of it

kapag may nag-attempt or nagparamdam na minamaliit nila ako, i immediately respond in straight slang english when i talk to them. there's a surprised look in their faces everytime i do that.

nice trick bro, let me try that too...

pagbasa ko nito, try ko agad in front of the computer. kaya lang, mag sway-sway ang helmet sa loop ng backpack ko. very uncomfortable cya pag lumakad ka na kasi the weight is always shifting from your sides. plus mas lalong real head turner pa 'yan kaysa bitbit mo lang sa kamay mo. but, i like the look though. kakaiba! kung may biker na pang model ang image at ginagawa 'yan sa malls na nakikita ng kapwa bikers, cgurado ako, maging uso rin 'yan! i look forward in seeing that new trend...
