I am a street rider with very minimal track time and limited budget(bet. P4-6T) for a new helmet to add to my stuff, which do you prefer, a motard helmet(with very limited brand/designs) or the usual off-road helmet(with better graphics and more brands to choose from) and just buy a pair of goggles to go with it? :o

Yeah, pero the artistic side (more like autistic side hehe) of me tells me that there are more available graphics to choose from on off-road helmets! But you're right, having to bring goggles is inconvenient!

If you will be using it on the streets rain or shine, Id suggest a motard helmet for its versatility & ease of use. "Porma-wise", a regular offroad helmet for its wide range of graphics/designs.

Was a user of a regular offroad helmet on the street since 2003. I thought it was the best since it really looks good on a dirt/dual bike. When I got the chance to use a motard helmet, I never looked back. I assigned my offroad helmet to offroad duties only. I use the motard helmet everyday & on long rides. I plan of adding a full face helmet as an extra helmet for everyday use.

Possible concerns that you will have on using offroad helmets are the following:

1. If it rains & you need to ride under it, rain drops will hit your face thru the gaps between the helmet & the goggles. It will hurt.

2. If you will wear a balaclava so the rain drops will not hit your face directly, chances are the balaclava will get wet & you will have problems breathing thru it.

3. Goggles may fog up easily on rainy day riding. It becomes more of a concern when youre riding in the rain & its dark.

Since I ride rain or shine, daytime & nightime, these things made me realize that I need a helmet with shield more than I need a helmet with goggles.

Kapag maaraw, walang problema sa offroad helmet. Pogi ka pa. :D

These comments/suggestions are based on my personal experiences only. Hope to have helped.

This is a very useful information, I guess will just have to save up for an Arai or Shoei motard helmet. HJC is inexpensive but the limited color/graphics just won't cut it. Thanks for all your inputs, you have been all helpful! God bless everyone!
