to find out the watts of your stock bulb, just pull out your stock and check the written wattage.

Col. Ted bought the plasma directly from me "overdose" at first he bought the 35watts 5000kelvin maruta brand plasma, but shortly changed to 25watts 7000kelvin xenon super white plasma. The 25watt xenon did cause complication.
Here what we have on the case
1)Col. Ted uses a Step motorcycle ( this is to define our first case of incompatibility)
2)The step has a 30 watt stock bulb
3)Col. Ted decided to go for a 25 watt 7000 kelvin xenon brand plasma bulb as we both figured it might be safer because of lower wattage.
4) the 25 watt 7000kelvin xenon seems to be incompatible with the step as
it caused problem in the socket area i think also causing heat in the harness.
Col. ted. tried to change harness twice but still the same.

First theory is that there more current running through the wires 30watts compared to what the bulb is asking. but this is still under further investigation as col. ted and I have coordinated to see what will best improve lighting for step.
I heard of another case of plasma being not compatible with the step but so far only col. ted has coordinated with me to find a solution to the problem. we are both working on what will give step owners better illumination but not necessarily resorting to HID.

Plan of action
our plan of action is to replace col. Ted bulb with splitfire krypton white 35 watts . We havent tried splitfire on a step but we've tried on a hayate and no problems occured. I'm also gona ask col ted if he wants to try out magnum ice bulbs


if you have a step also i recommend you wait for col. ted findings to see what option you have to have brighter lightning for you bike.

so far we installed plasma without problems to honda waves, kawasaki zx 30s from krc and a few furies but we had to convert the plasma with this one, raiders, shoguns. these are as far as i can recall. we've sold 549 pcs so far. and the step is the first case of incompatibility. I thank Col. Ted for brininging this to my attention because this allowed me to investigate on it. thank you also for asking at least i had room to post here our response to col. teds case although he did adressed this to me privately.

if you have another model of bike, i always recommend a week of observation before leaving the light for good, with a weeks time you'll be able to see if theres any concerns going about or not.

you may also choose splitfire or magnum ,magnum the less heat immiting of the two.

nag try na kasi ako ng makoto (yun yata yung brand) na white kaso bitin pa rin ang liwanag. sinubukan ko naman yellow kaso sabi nung kakilala ko sakit daw sa mata pagkasalubong mo. kaya yung yellow nilagay ko na lang sa low beam.

i think it has nothing to do with the wattage. the current did not cause the burn.
what might caused it must be the temperature of the bulb. see here is you have a 35w bulb with 5000K and a 25w bulb but with a 7000K. Kelvin (K) is a unit of temperature so that your 7000K bulb is hotter than your 5000K bulb and it does not depend on your wattage.

why 5000K and 7000K?...color of the light emitted
the higher the K the bluer the light gets. the lower the K, the redder the light gets. so 5000K is in the white zone and 7000K is going to the bluish zone.

i have friends in raider 125 who use plamsa and di naman nagka problem. If th raider 150 has lower quality materials used for its headlight assembly compared to the 125 then it may happen but if it is made with the same quality standards then you should be safe. But we always recomend a one week observation period for you to check daily the assembly for any concerns that might happen before it worsens. if after a week of using nothing unusual is taking place. Tha means your assembly can use plasma

oh a little update i handed a 35watt 4600 kelvin bulb to col ted to try out and it seem to work, i guess the lower kelvin works better for sensitive headlight assmeblies. Col ted said its not as bright as 7000 kelvin but hey we can't have everything, we have to sacrifice brightness for tolerance in this case.

so far ang angal sa honda gusto more, matibay naman headlight ng honda kaya gusto nga mas malakas pa

after market china is not as matibay of course as OEM, the only way to know for sure it to do the one week observatin period. daily observe kung may nangyayari iba sa assembly mo para matangal mo agad before further complications.

now sa yellow naman kung ok para sa iyo, don't mind ung sabi ng kakilala mo, you can't please all ng kasalubong mo, others nga prefer seing yellow than super white. besides di naman siguro oras oras kasalubong mo sya.

based on actual expirments, what worked for col ted is a 35watt 4600 kelvin bulb. I gues for those with sensitive assemblies like the step its safer to go with a highier wattage and lower kelvin than a lower wattage with a highier kelvin. The honda waves and Xrm have nothing to fear as their headlight assemblies are equiped to handle the plasma.raiders haven't given any mishaps to date

As far as the color, Kelvin used to be a factor on the color but recent technology has allowed companies to dictate color emitted by HID's or other bulbs even with the same kelvin. For example
splitfire has magnum arc and krypton white both 35 watts both 4600 kelvin but one is yellow all weather ant the other is bluish white.
plasma maruta has rainbow and white both in 35 watts 5000 kelvin.
