:o .....i'd like to share this website to all you nature loving riders and sign in. let's help bring back BAGUIO the way it was at least 20 years ago.

50 or so years ago (i heard ha!) you can see icicle covered grass all around Baguio in the early mornings.

Wolver, do you know this movement.

The last time I was in Baguio was 21 years ago. I can remember the zig zag kennon road, the big lion statue, going to the PMA, riding horses in Burnham park, playing pinball machines at Camp John Hay and having dinner with my family at a restaurant along session road. I can also remember waking up in the morning freezing my ass off and thinking "How can people here stand waking up when it's this cold every morning?"

I suggest you post this on the Bantay Turista Forums http://bantayturista.com The forums haven't really got started yet but a lot of very influencial people are getting involved. Just yesterday I met with the Philippines Defence Secretary Angelo Reyes who agreed to sign up with Bantay Turistsa an advisor. These guys dont post messages but they do look.

If you know people in Baguio who want to promote tourism there tell them to contact me.

:C ...the reason why i posted it here was because i'd like to share it with the younger guys who actually won't bother to read Bantay Turista Forums.

i know riders in general love the open spaces and nature in particular - i do. if security, peace and safety is in order around the PI, i'd take a month off and just ride and ride wherever and camp out wherever.

thanks again:D :C

:D :C .....yeah yamota! don't you want to have that back again.
that is one thing i surely wouldn't want to change - the temperature.

the problem there is over population and BIG is the prefix for both words.

yes, you still have the kennon road and the lion bust (which to me still looks like an ape - hehehe! forgive me mr. artist); PMA will never go; Burnham Park - no more horses (transfered to Wright Park); the bowling lanes in John Hay - still there but pinball maybe not and of course Session Road eateries' still there.

:* :* cool! as in baguio!!:C

Lemme start it this way ....... It's not that I am am with the "becoming of Baguio as another victim of urban misdevelopment, its just fine "without the Magsaysay flyover, Baguio City would be crawling because of traffic. I already had a scooter but still when its traffic ... its still hard to weave thru it even with a dio and my scooter is bigger than a dio.

About the concrete pine tree ... ugh! Its exagerated !!!. There's just one concrete pine tree I know and its "PLANTED" onto the Session road rotonda, here's the reason why its concrete, if they had planted a real tree, it would take years and years to grow, heck it'll even be a miracle it it'll survive its first 10 years. :D That rotonda is always busy ... pollution would affect the growth, and I don't think it'll grow .... maybe it'll turn out to be Bonsai Pine. :D There's one large live tree, its not a pine, just at the foot of the Session road, its big coz it had the chance of growing at the time of Marcos regime and at that time, air is really sweet and fresh .... not like now .... ugh ... it's like the climate of Manila in the early 80's (oops, sorry about the climate there in Manila).

About the Pine Trees being cut .... well, its true .... and I hate it .... but then the flyover was constructed, no pine tree was cut. Unless itentional just to have a great pine wood flooring and wall finishings. :D

Abput the flyover at the General hospital ... yeah. I think it'll hit the pine tree carpeted park of the hospital. Sad it is though.

About the manipulated traffic scheds along Session road? yeah, there were lots of criticism since it turned out really funny and awkward..... as i heard:D.

Hope one of the projects to be implemented and done every four months would be the PINE TREE PLANTING.... and seriously do it. I had planted one and slinetly makred it ..... planted eight years ago ... now am proud looking at it every time I visit the place. It grew. :)

About the malls ... well, time is advancing and bazaars are taking advantage of the limited supply ... prices and availabilty are a problem .... Malls may help availabilty of materials and supply, rather than go down to Manila Just to have that THING you badly needed. Ever since Manila Based stores came up here, it helped. Like D.I.Y., Handyman and Popular Shoe stores .... those are just a few examples. :)

Baguio's tourist spots are somewhat neglected now ... little si being taken cared of. Camp John hay is one Goner Tourist Spot. Just turned out to be a real estate now. :)

Well, I may say its ..... hmmm ....already because of modernized surrounding I suppose.
I'm a half igorot too and may say i don't feel like wearing one since .... I don't know .....:D. But still believe in our traditions though.
But you can still find them at botanical garden and mines view park.

That was 13 years ago when roads up to baguio are not that passable ..... for now, there were malls put up, two malls actually......and then another one is currently under construction, the wait is almost over .... SM Baguio Mall is due this October. It's sort of 3/6 the size of SM Megamall of Mandaluyong.
