forget leather or all weather jacket. ang init talaga dito sa pilipinas . the best ang mesh jacket. you need comfort when you ride. may nabibili na ngayon na mesh jacket with lining na waterproof just in case it rains. very happy ako dito mura pa mga less than 4,000 lang:*

if you don't intend to use it on the tracks...forget the leather jacket...

i have a Teknic leather jacket which i use only during long rides...but for everyday riding i use my J.R. mesh jacket....

No need to be torn between two jackets... To get the best of both worlds, you can buy a Joe Rocket Reactor jacket... it's a combination leather and mesh jacket. Leather sleeves and shoulders attached to a mesh torso.

The leather is perforated also so that the wind will flow through. I have one and can attest to the comfort.

IMHO, go for a heavy mesh padded jacket.

I have a leather Teknic Jacket that I honestly never use so I sold it. This was a perforated (with breathe holes) and it still cooked me up wearing it.

The mesh jacket will do a very good job at protecting you and keeping you cool. :)

merong Motoworld sa Connecticut St. Greenhills. Ito yung kanto sa EDSA past Camp Crame na may Petron at Caltex on each corner. Yung shop ay papasok, papunta ng Greenhills Shopping Center on the right side.

Meron silang sponsored forum dito sa MCP

IMHO if you were to get a good QUALITY mesh jacket, go visit a Motoworld, they carry many good brands such as Komine, RS Taichi, Spidi etc.

There are some places that sell cheap mesh jackets that are imitation Alpinestar and Imitation Joe Rockets I am honestly not sure about how well they fare in a not so forunate accident.

i have a leather jacket and a supposedly breathable nylon jacket...
pareho mainit.....havent tried the mesh yet...because i think may compromise sya pagdating sa safety...
sabi nga dun sa isang thread na nabasa ko.....mas madali punasan ang pawis kesa dugo........

I disagree, I had an accident twice already w/ my mesh jacket and i came out unscathed...I'm using a Fieldsheer Titanium Mesh jacket btw...;-)

I second the motion. There are plenty of HEAVY mesh jackets (including the one I have) and they are supposed to be tougher than normal textile jackets due to the weave of the mesh. :)

.

mas magandang bilhin yung mesh suit or jacket kesa sa leather. hindi advisable gamitin ang leather lalo na kung gagamitin mo madalas, super init kase...

After riding in Phils and Africa as well as North America, I prefer a mesh jacket for the Philippine climate. All mesh jackets are Not the same. Soft nylon mesh will peel off in an accident. For safety the 1000 denier HARD woven Cordura mesh is much preferred.

Only one brand that I know of makes such a jacket. It is Vanson. They made the Ventilator jacket. It was rated #1 out of 10 mesh jackets compared by Motorcycle Cruiser magazine.
evolved into Vent Max 3 shirt-jacket. The Vent Max3 is made of 1000 denier knitted Cordura nylon mesh, with an athletic nylon mesh lining. Internal leather panels at the elbow and shoulder impact zones. Besides the leather in the impact zones there is CE approved shoulder, elbow and back armor included. Low bulk leather bead style collar and cuffs. This item is available in the 4styles: Flame, Bone & Stripe . Minimum weight for worst case heat. Available for men and women with matching Vent pants.

It is available as a Special Order from MC Stuff (http://www.bikersstorephilippines.com) in Tagbilaran City, Bohol. It ships in via Johnny Air in 2 weeks, or via Balikbayan in 2 months. They may have one or two in stock.

get a perforated leather jacket, may mesh jacket ako dati 1 semplang lang punit agad, sa leather jacket maraming semplang bago mo masira yun pero wag mo na subukan kung gaano kadami, masakit sa katawan.

Try the Leather/Mesh jackets offered by SPIDI, RS TAICHI, JOE ROCKET, and SHIFT. It has leather on the areas most susceptible sa semplang and it has mesh areas to keep you cool while riding.

SPIDI, RS TAICHI are available at Motoworld.
JOE ROCKET is available at JT Triumph.
SHIFT is available at DAN'S motorcyce shop.

Number 1 for me is the Cordura Mesh Jacket like made by Vanson.
Proven and tested ko na.
Hindi mainit, madaling bitbitin, hindi bulky just like fashion jacket but may protection ka from the hard cordura nylon.
This is the best for our country.

I have tried all of these. The Joe Rocket Leather/Mesh has extremely thin perforated leather in the shoulders and sleeves. Spidi and RS Taichi are better. But the Hard Cordura still provides better air flow, lower weight and optimal protection in my opinion. Now if we could find Kevlar mesh or Carbon fiber mesh that might be the next step up...

Following up on the last post - www.bikersstorephilippines.com has just become an authorized dealer for USA company Draggin' Jeans. They produce Kevlar reinforced jeans and leather motocycle garments for riding in Very high heat climates. They have a Kevlar mesh shirt that will save your skin, not your bones. But paired with the optional armor you can save your bones too. The products are made in the USA.
They also produce jeans and multi pocketed Jean jackets that are Kevlar lined. There is a video showing a motorcycle rider sitting on the pavement and being dragged by a Truck. The jeans got scuffed but the Kevlar protected his butt! More on this later..

My mesh saved me from a couple of slides.

Yung mesh, ayun in one piece pa rin. :)

hahaha! Natawa ako dito ah! Oo nga don't test it...masakit talaga. But yea, good point made. With a Mesh Jacket, after one spill, you might need to retire it. With a leather Jacket, you could use it even after a spill because of its toughness. :)

Just go to www.bikersstorephilippines.com and you can call them too. Look in the Contact Us tab.
The Vanson jackets get imported from the USA and takes time unless you can afford
to pay for Johnny Air.

The Kevlar lined jean jackets are available the same way.

Between Mesh and Leather.
