View Full Version : Is three Arai Helmets too much?
Ranimal December 26th, 2008, 06:59 PM I already have two Arai RX-7 RR4 Helmets: 2007 Edwards GP and 2006 Hayden Laguna, and quite happy with them.
A new Hayden helmet is coming out and I wonder if having three Arai Helmets is overkill? Will I appreciate less the other two that I already have.

Decisions, Decisions.......Or, maybe I should look for a new racing suit instead?
dacqx December 26th, 2008, 07:31 PM it all depends on how deep your pocket is... that'd be the bottom line IMHO.

Overkill, you better dispose one of your helmets and purchased the new rx-7rr5.
How much yung 2006 hayden?? Hahahah... :O
Kaizen December 26th, 2008, 07:52 PM Not overkill. Saludo po ako sa mga riders na sa safety gears nag iinvest. The investment is not only for you, i shows how you love you family....and a taste for quality lids.
RCC December 26th, 2008, 09:25 PM i don't think it would be practical to have 3 rx7rr. Kasi basically ang difference lang ng mga helmet mo is the artwork na hindi mo naman nakikita habang suot ang helmet. ok lang sana kung 1 rx7rr, 1 sz-ram at 1 tx motard. at least iba iba ang type.
ryan December 26th, 2008, 11:03 PM Or get another high end helmet nalang from Shoei or Shark.
Even the latest Arai RX7 will probably have minimal improvements from the last model
:)

+1 ako sa sabi ni Sir RCC.
I would suggest look into another brand like Shoei, OGK, Schubert, Shark etc.
:)
noypito December 27th, 2008, 02:39 AM kung saan ka masaya, yun ang bilhin mo. hindi naman practicality ang pinaguusapan dito. if you want to be practical, just buy the cheapest ece and snell approved helmet and stick with it.
motorcycling for us is a passion. passion dosen't always equate with practicality. we do something not because we should, we do it because we want to. same applies to your choice of buying a third helmet. bottom line is, kung yun ang gusto mo and you have the money to spend on it, go for it.

kung me pera ka you can buy as many lids as you want, maybe you can even convert a room for your lids para naman maidisplay mo...;)
pero on the safe side....
lids has got their expiration dates....padding inserts, can be affected by weather, temperature and humidity....[minsan yung foam nagiging "pulbos" sa katagalan]
tsaka if you are planning to sell the lid in the future...kahit sabihin mong near mint yan pero kung 3-4 years old na yan...and you want to sell na medyo me kamahalan pa rin dahil [di naman masyado gamit]..in my case i wont buy it...
yan ang problem pag masyado madami helmet....lalo na kung magkaka pareho ng function [tsaka dapat controlled environment and storage ng lids]
i still got 4 lids: 1 arai tour x, [xd sa u.s.] , AGV stealth , 661 flight off road lid , AGV RC-5 off road lid
i used to have 6 but i ended up selling the 2 [AGV GP Pro and CAberg Downtown ] kasi excess na sa requirments [ tska that time i needed space and money ]
3 lids of the same model...hmmmm...medyo bland for my taste..
for me, para yang bumili ka ng jordan XI na ibat ibang kulay...pero kanya kanyang hilig naman yan...kung dun ka masaya..at me pera...hehehe why not:clap:

d'virus December 28th, 2008, 09:26 AM no such thing as TOO much protection...

anong kinalaman ng quantity ng protection dito? one helmet will do the job. a second and a third helmet won't add to the protection that is already given by the first.

It all depends on how many heads you have, or how many people you need to impress. One is enough, but if you like to keep your helmet in pristine condition, two is OK. That way you can wear the secondry helmet in the rain and on "rough rides".

Gary!
Vacation to the motherland was good! I even got to rent a 125 scooter and braved the roads of Cebu City! That was an experience!
Thanks for the suggestion and I opted to get a new racing suit instead:

Just put my order in today...so it should be in my hands for the first riding weekend of 2009!
So, my old racing suit will go on sale soon:
