View Full Version : How do you take care of Authentic Riding Gloves?
gl3nborj December 10th, 2008, 04:02 PM I have this schoeller track gauntlet.
I haven't washed it since, but I'm very eager to learn how to take good care of it and maintain its leather quality.
i have an rs taichi gloves (ung di gauntlet type).
since they're not too expensive, i tried to wash them with water and a little hand soap. then hang them behind the fridge to dry. but just before they get too dry (still damp), i take them out and put vaseline (petroleum jelly) on them to maintain their suppleness. so far, so good.:D
b16eg December 11th, 2008, 01:32 AM also have an rs taichi gloves.. i just wash it with water and soap. ngayon wala na kong gloves..hehe de joke lang! ok parin naman.. :D

leather gloves? wash it with light soap (not detergent) & water but do not expose directly to sunlight or it harden & crack. after it dries up apply a liquid leather cleaner/conditioner, armor all & turtle wax have good products, armor all spray on leather cleaner/conditioner is what i use.
btw i only wash the gloves with light soap & water only when it is needed, most of the time i use the spray on leather cleaner/conditioner.

use only soap with lanolin (beauty soap) & water to wash your leather gloves.
Wide_Load December 11th, 2008, 08:18 AM Neatsfoot oil is what's best on leather for me. :)
Col.TED December 11th, 2008, 08:27 AM as much as possible, don't leave them sa motorcycle compartment nyo at nabibilad motor nyo sa araw......mababakbak yan!!!!
lesson learned for me....hehe:)

Sir yung mga detergent nga nag dedeteriorate nung leather, so sa mga suits din po ba ganyan din gagamitin? or punas-punas lang? Yung suit ko dati na 2 piece halos di nalabhan eh, twice lang yata nalaban yun tapos every time na isusoot ko after washing, para akong sinusuman, medyo umuurong ng kaunti.
