Swedish communications equipment manufacturer Franzen have released their Bikeman GSM Telephone headset made specially for motorcycle helmets. This adapter kit connects to a variety of GSM telephones, and is mounted in your helmet.

The microphone is a throat mike, thereby eliminating a lot of the outside noise. If you set your mobile phone to auto-answer, you can receive calls when on your motorcycle.

What I can't understand that a Swedish company (Sweden - home of Ericsson) doesn't immediately make Bluetooth interfaces for GSM telephones and helmets ?? Today, most new telephones have Bluetooth (apart from the USA).

There are wireless headsets available for non-bluetooth phones. Jabra has a nice simple kit that works pretty well. http://www.jabra.com/

I have been looking for blutooth earphones for my Mac Powerbook but no luck yet.

The problem I found with almost all cellphone hands free sets is that the volume is nowhere near loud enough when you are travelling at over about 60kph. The handsfree I got for for my 9210 is so bad that even standing on the side of the road with my helmet on I can hear better if I just open the phone and use its internal speaker!
