View Full Version : Bums with bikes and the degeneration of Philippine Society
backdoorman November 18th, 2008, 08:41 PM Maybe you've seen these idle people, they could be in your very own neighborhood. People who do not work, people who play billiards and drink all day and night, maybe even get high and rouse the neighborhood till the wee hours of the morning. It doesn't make you wonder why the philippines is in such shambles. They pass-on these bad traits to their kids and you hear their kids cussing when they're barely past 5 years old. It's like a vile version of passing something forward. But they're passing something destructive to the next generation of Filipinos. What is also disheartening is that some of these good for nothing bums are bikers. It gives motorcycling a bad name. It's sad to think that these people could have done good to their families and even to this country. But how their squander their time on idleness, gambling, getting drunk and high and cursing all day and night.
As motorcyclists in the Philippines, i think we should not just give motorcycling a good name, but give the Filipinos a good name as well. These are some of the things we should strive for. As for the Bums, they have to change their ways, even if just for the sake of their families. Especially their kids.
GUNDAM168 November 19th, 2008, 01:51 PM How can you tell if a motorcycle rider is a bum? Or who plays billiards (riding with a cuestick)? Or a gambler (may baraha sa backpocket)?

xnber November 22nd, 2008, 11:11 AM Madaming ganyan, oo. Pero minsan hindi din natin masisisi. Ung iba sa kanila biglang nawalan ng trabaho, hindi nakapag-tapos; nahihirapan maghanap ng matinong trabaho kaya tambay sila, etc..
Let them be. Let our government work on the economy to generate more jobs. Maybe the "BUMS" will apply.
Pero ibang usapan na kapag gumawa ng hindi nakaka-buti sa kapwa yan'g mga yan.;)
anthonyjcrocks November 24th, 2008, 09:33 PM Umm...there are too many things to take into consideration when we see these people....but I do have to agree to some extent that some people are indeed lazy bums....the real question is, are the people we see playing billiards etc etc really bums?
brand0 November 25th, 2008, 12:38 AM let's not poke on to the "bums on billiards" thing. maybe the TS wants to emphasize that the most people usually does the "tambay" on the pool house are bums.
kaya nga nakatambay eh,
but it is in fact true that it is not a good example for our children, citizens that will soon be the workforce and maybe leaders of our nation.
Le Corbusier November 26th, 2008, 07:37 PM If they have all morning and night being idle, eating pulutan food, drinking even gambling, then they're bums. What an awful example to kids! Having no job at the moment isn't an excuse for idleness and laziness.
Being unemployed can be an opportunity to enrich one's mind and body. People often have excuses not to exercise or read a book that they've been wanting to, etc, etc. Unemployment can be a time to enrich one's spirit by reading scripture. The bible says a lot about people who do not toil. What irony in this so-called "only christian country in asia" that we don't practice the supposed virtues our faith or read our scriptures.
In short, use bad times for your own good.
cyberfunk November 26th, 2008, 09:20 PM What does being a bum has to do with somebody on a motorcycle? Do have to attach motorcycling with everything that is wrong with society?
