Kung isa lang ang helmet mas mabuti na daw na sa backride mo na ipagamit. Para sa akin naman kahit papayagan na walang helmet ang backride, mas mabuti na ang mag helmet na kayo pareho para sigurado. Kaligtasan nyo pareho ang nakasalalay diyan :) oj88 September 3rd, 2004, 05:47 PM Mandatory or not, as a matter of principle, anyone riding a bike must wear the proper gear for their own safety. Pillion riders included. m7zednalfs September 3rd, 2004, 05:53 PM Mandatory or not, as a matter of principle, anyone riding a bike must wear the proper gear for their own safety. The Growler September 3rd, 2004, 06:48 PM Mandatory or not, as a matter of principle, anyone riding a bike must wear the proper gear for their own safety. Pillion riders included. Absolutely, and a proper helmet to international standards, i.e. DOT or BS, not one of those plastic things that look like something the baby pees in. Same with my car. We don't go anywhere until all passengers front AND rear buckle up. You know it makes sense. :) Burnout September 10th, 2004, 12:06 AM ... i.e. DOT or BS, not one of those plastic things that look like something the baby pees in. BS?? You mean BullSh_t helmets?? :O Jk. oj88 September 10th, 2004, 12:14 AM BS?? You mean BullSh_t helmets?? :O Jk. British Standard (BS xxxx)... Just ran into this term myself. Burnout September 10th, 2004, 12:51 AM British Standard (BS xxxx)... Just ran into this term myself. Nice! :) oj88 is the bomb!! Frank Woolf September 10th, 2004, 12:00 PM British Standards are very high and very strict but you need to know which standard the BS mark refers to. It could mean the helmet has passed tests like DOT or Snell or it could mean it has passed a test for deflecting a ping pong ball :O Seriously it could mean safe for low speed impact, no facial protection, etc. oj88 September 10th, 2004, 12:24 PM British Standards are very high and very strict but you need to know which standard the BS mark refers to. It could mean the helmet has passed tests like DOT or Snell or it could mean it has passed a test for deflecting a ping pong ball :O Seriously it could mean safe for low speed impact, no facial protection, etc. That's perfectly right. If someone's selling you a BS EN 600 or BS EN 455-certified motorcycle helmet, hit him on the head with it. :O For motorcycle helmets, you should be looking at something like a BSI 6658-85. paolov September 10th, 2004, 05:36 PM One thing i can share with you guys is that the ZEUS Helmets are good. After my crash, you could clearly see the DEEP Marks made by my helmet scrubbing on the asphalt/road , DEEP, and it sure did protect my head/face from being plastered on the road. that would be nasty, with bits of my faces littered on the path. i still see the road . like thru a camera, with my head plowing thru the roadand the helmet and face guard being the barriers . Literally, i was viewing the slide with me having no control of the momentum. if i had a back rider without helmet, then that person may have had their face erased!!! literally. So all riders, should wear a DOT helmet, to PROTECT not just to comply and avoid a ticket after the crash, i missed my Honda Foresight 250cc. Burnout September 11th, 2004, 02:58 AM Thanks to oj88 for the information in buying BS certified helmets. botchix September 11th, 2004, 08:59 AM Before the Eurocrats, BS on motorcycle helmets are colour coded. Green sticker - passed the minimum requirement Blue sticker - passed the higher requirement Now that the Eurocrats have their way, it's all "CE" - Conformite Europene marked. For racing 'ACU' - Auto Cycle Union (not air conditioning unit, ok :O ) also test the helmet's suitability for racing use after it has passed CE standard. This is identified by a gold sticker of ACU. Confused yet? Here's a thought: What if I wear a bicycle helmet which is marked with CE while riding a motorbike? :C Can I argue that a motorcycle is a bicycle with a motor? :O Can I argue that since I can wear bicycle clothing while riding a bike, I can wear a bicycle helmet too? :W I don't think the police will be too impressed! :O |
