View Full Version : Gears, etc Ordering online?
Sam_De_Vera November 4th, 2008, 03:31 PM Hi... Tanong ko lang if anyone here already had an experience ordering online ng gears... especially helmets...
Would you mind sharing your experience? Ok ba umorder online? I mean hassle/trouble free ba especially kung sa ibang bansa oorder lalo na kung charge sa credit card? Any problems with shipping? Any custom duty taxes?
Thanks in advance for sharing..:s

Thank you sir.. I hope MCP sellers can provide some info...
Im planning to order myself but not to be a seller, just for my own use sana..
broker218 November 4th, 2008, 05:34 PM I order some stuff (mostly tools) for my bike from amazon.com and pay via credit card. So far, no hassles or fraudulent charges on my card.
I have the goods shipped to my aunt in San Francisco and she sends them to me when somebody comes home from there.
I would advise against buying helmets/gloves/pants/boots online since you cannot fit them. You can check out the classifieds section for gear though.
Suzuki_Love November 5th, 2008, 04:46 AM do not buy gear online unless you know your size for sure with a specific brand because different brands have different sizes. for example, a US46 from alpinestars is different from a US46 from teknic. but if you do know your size and stuff you should check out. www.sportbiketrackgear.com for gear and www.motomummy.com for parts.

hey sam! since you pm'ed me on this, here's my take.. :D
-ok naman umorder online but at the current forex, medyo mahal narin.
-if you charge to your card, the usual rate of VISA is about 2php more than the actual rate.
-some shops won't accept foreign orders/cards.
-sa shipping, better if you have a contact who could bring it home for you. if you send it and it passes thru the postal office, you'll be charged extra. happened to me before with a service manual from australia. if thru door-to-door delivery, it may or may not be scanned by customs.
and the other posts are also to be considered regarding the sizing of different brands. just remember, you can have it shipped back for replacement but it's gonna cost you so much more plus the hassle you'll have to go through.
good luck!
d'virus November 5th, 2008, 10:35 AM i have ordered gears online... kung mas mura....
helmets, gloves... at bike parts..
ginagawa ko eh, pumupunta ako sa shops that carries the said gears at i-fit dun... kung makuha mo na ang size mo, saka ka umorder online..
note sizes varies from brand to brand; so try on the same brand (at least) if not the exact model..
mas mahal as one of the forimers mentioned pero minsan wala kang mabilhan locally ng items eh, kaya no choice,
at credit cards has a fraud protection, so you dont have to woory too much...
good luck

Sam_De_Vera November 27th, 2008, 09:52 AM Just got my scorpion exo-400 yesterday c/o sir Airo..
I finally got a piece of this helmet.. though city ride ko sya nagamit ok naman pero i still prefer my zeus modular pag daily ride/city ride.. siguro kasi mas sanay ako sa vision ng zeus-modular, sa full face kasi hindi ko na kita yung sa bandang gilid unless lumingon ako and i think its normal sa mga full face helmets.. siguro mga 1/8-1/4 side vision din yung difference ng zeus modular ko compared sa full face scorpion helmet.. Fitting is really snug... as in snug talaga mas snug pa to sa zeus ko.. i remember when i first got my zeus pero talagang mas snug pa yung fit ng scorpion..
Scorpion vents pretty well(compared to my zeus) and i would say its a quiet helmet once na isara na ang lens.. whooo boy you will hear a different sound.. parang nagiiba yung tunog ng pipe ko.. talagang noise is reduced pati yung wind noise na parang sumisipol wala ko narinig na ganun on this scorpion helmet..
Another thing is yung liner nya sa loob ang galing hindi ko man lang napansin ng pinapawisan ako.. kasi talagang kwick-wick nga... The best part on this helmet is the visor.. Grabe ilang beses ko sinubukang i-fog yung visor as in literally im breathing heavily while the visor is close and nakatigil ako sa stoplight pero wala hindi man lang talaga nag-fog.. kahit anong parte ng lens wala hindi nag-fog.
I would strongly suggest this helmet to everyone here lalo na pag long ride... It would be better kung makuha nyo din yung accesory nya na aero-skirt which can be installed on the chin part to reduce more noise sayang lang at hindi ako naka-pagorder nun with my helmet..
Kudos to you sir Airo salamat talaga sa pag-asikaso ng order ko.. i can recommend you to anyone out here looking for a helmet na available lang sa ibang bansa.. Fast transaction at napakadaling kausap:clap:
airo November 30th, 2008, 02:10 PM Nice review on the Scorpion EXO-400! :)

salamat din bro sa tiwala. ung chin skirt ihabol nalang natin next year. tigil muna ko for december eh. ingat lang sa pag ride :)
primepaul December 8th, 2008, 03:24 PM knee/sheen guard lang binili ko online.. the others i buy it at stores.. mahirap na baka hindi comfortable isuot.. dapat fit talaga sayo before you buy it.. again as someone mentioned here, walang standard sizings ang mga gear manufacturers, so better be safe than sorry
