if you love your life go for branded and original helmet.

experience lang po sa mga kapwa kung nag momotor....... umakyat kami ng sierra madre noong Aug.31, when we were on our half way to the top... we saw a dead motorist na tinakpan nlng ng dahon ng saging dahil sumalpok ang ulo nya s railings ng kalsada and he is using a raider 125.... the T post of his bike was almost a S shape due to the impact.. He could survive the crash if he was using branded and Quality helmet... But unfortunately he died using a GDR helmet....nadurog ang helmet nya .....

" IF YOU CAN BUY A BIKE THEN BUY A BRANDED and HIGH QUALITY HELMET"

i think something of the same incident happended last sunday at marilaque. but this time his backride was a kid who was taken to the hospital right after the incident. the rider was dead on the spot.

use only certified helmets. :)

in IMHO lang mga fafs.don't settle for helmets na DOT certified lang.ang DOT certification kase eh mismong ang mga manufacturers lang ang nagpeperform ng mga safety test ng mga helmets nila.meaning, there's a possibility na mamanipulate nila ang results ng mga tests nila.for me, settle for helmets with SNELL certification. ang SNELL kase is a not for profit institution that sets safety standard for helmets worldwide. :)

@virus....napansin mo din pala...
dami ako nakikitang mga naka ubone na ang motor eh katakot takot na modification ang ginawa....and tyak ko na di mura yun mga modification nila...pero ang helmet...ah....yun iba nga wala pang tatak....
di nila naiisip na mas mahal ang ma ct scan o kaya mri ata ang tawag, dun...not to mention medicine that will be taken and the pain....

@ lowrider:
sir yung kwento mo parehong pareho dun sa naaksidenteng rider sa marilaque...
GDR helmet ren suot nya at tumama sa poste ng railings dahil na overshoot sa twist..
ayun wasak ang helmet at dead on the spot ang rider...

Cheap Helmet = Cheap Death

eto rin ba yun???parang same accident..

http://www.motorcyclephilippines.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140589&page=6

the date is september 7, 2008...sariwa pa...

it means ba na hindi talaga safe ang GDR? or any helmet would have the same result because of the strong impact???

I've just seen the pic po. Based from what I saw, I could tell na hindi lang trauma nangyari at main cause of death e nabali neck nya. Take a look on the broken helmet...it's not really shattered in the reall sense of the word kasi outer part lang ng helmet ang nasira.

oo nga...the inner shell is still intact...malamang naghead on collision sya sa rails...at dahil sa lakas ng impact, nabali leeg nya, tapos ang impact pa ay sa visor ng helmet...yun pa naman ang fragile na part...

IMHO......
even if you're wearing a helmet use in the MOTOGP or the best safety gears in the world, kung masyado ka kaskasero, especially on foreign terrains, kahit anong tibay nyan eh malaki parin ang chance mo na ma dead on the spot.

the helmet would take the impact pero yong leeg mo naman ang mababali, fatal pa rin.

you may own or use the cheapest healmet in the world pero responsible driver ka naman, the chance of having a fatal accident is minimal, kung mangyari may hindin ganon kalala. minor injuries..

you may own or use the best helmet in the world, kung barumbado ka magpatakbo, sa tingin mo ililigatas ka ng certified helmet mo, sa tingin hindi.

that's the point... hindi mo alam kung kailan mangyayari, hindi mo rin malalaman kung ano mangyayari sayo after, or tulali hindi mo na malalaman...

be a responsible driver, wag ipilit gawin kung di kaya, wag makipagkarera kay kamatay..

hindi nakamamatay ang pag slow down on twisties, and wag kaskasero kung may backride ka, lalo na kung bata

sir kahit anong ingat mo eh yung ibang motorista naman eh barumbado bale wala din .... owning a cheap helmet and wearing one is a big no no for me .... eh pano kung na tyempuhan ka nito wearing chipipoy helmet .... im taking my chances on good quality helmet and wearing one has a big big difference ..... dami lang talagang pasaway na motorista ang gagara at mamahalin ang kanilang motor but bulok naman ang helmet ....

I somehow agree on this. It's a given na branded helmet is a lot safer than cheap helmets pero it doesn't mean it will protect your head 100%. I would rather drive defensively and wear cheap but reliable helmet such as Zeus, Spyder and hjc. Mura na rin ang hjc ngayon kaya i consider that brand as cheap helmet na rin.

A good cheap helmet na dot/snell or ece certified + GOOD/RESPONSIBLE DRIVING HABIT is already enough to keep you from most of the danger. Ang ganda nga ng helmet mo, pati armor mo ang ganda din, tapos a$$h0l3 ka naman magpatakbo sa kalsada, edi ganon din. you're risking yourself more than those who drive defensively. Wag kayo parating kampante sa gears nyo. IT only lessens the injury that you might get. depende sa aksidente, baka di karin mabuhay or worst case, maging gulay the rest of your life.

So ano stand ko, if you're going to buy a cheap helmet, make sure na yung magandang klase at ORIGINAL. wag kayo bibili ng PEKE...

ang sabi ng mga beterano sa riding: "if you think your head is worth P300, then it must be".

if you ride faster than your pace, you compromise your safety regardless of what you're wearing.

nonetheless, being prepared saves a lot of skin and bones; reason why we invest in proper protective gears.

lastly, DON'T RACE IN THE STREETS! marami nang nagbuwis ng lives and limbs sa ganitong paraan. let's learn the lesson from their experience.

ride safe bros.
