kevlar it self has high abrasion protection(as well as bullets i suppose), bike helmets are designed to withstand impact at hindi matatangal in case of a spill (if used properly)...

it makes sense na ilagay ang kevlar sa pants o jacket (gaya ng Draggin' Jeans o Icon MC denim) in case of a spill....

kung mismong military helmet, i guess mabuti na sa wala... pero i'd prefer a full faced always over the others...

my 2c worth......

maganda ang kevla magprotect against abrasion and penetration. yun nga lang ang mga military helmets, hindi sila designed to dampen the G-force of an impact kaya puedeng maalog utak mo which can result to a comatose.
We don't really know what to expect in an accident.

as sir noypito have said a kevlar helmet is only good for abrasion resistance and without the polystyrene liner to absorb the impact it would give you a very bad concussion. so yes, a kevlar helmet would help disperse the impact force that would hit your head but it wouldn't slow down the gforce that would cause a other damages to your brain. it's like a classic american car full that is solidly built and a modern car with impact crush zone, a modern car would have a greater survival rate to its driver compared to a classic car without the impact crush zone. even with both driver wearing seatbelts the modern car would absorb as much gforce impact then the rest would get to the driver, so a good motorcycle helmet would have better impact protection than a kevlar helmet.

first of all, try mo muna yung helmet. bigat ano? there is a reason why they design and manufacture certain things. the real deal, mil-spec kevlar helmet ay di ko ire-recommend in place of a proper bike helmet. papunta sa bilyaran sa kanto pwede siguro lalo na sa mindanao. tama yung sabi nila sa previous posts.

sa mga cruisers/chopper riders popular yung german nazi style helmet

Helmets made with DuPont Kevlar meet demanding requirements for protection against a wide range of threats, including bullets, shrapnel and fragmentation. State-of-the-art helmets made with Kevlar, like the U.S. Army Advanced Combat Helmet, absorb 20% more kinetic energy than the Personal Armor System, Groung Troops (PASGT) helmets made with Kevlar they are replacing, and offer protection from submachine gun bullets. Rigorous impact testing shows helmets made with Kevlar have superior structural integrity to enhance survivability in ballistic and non-ballistic impact. And because they are lighter, they can help improve mobility and reduce fatigue.

if you read the news alot of us soldiers who gets into vehicular accident in a war zone would have severe concussion because military helmets gets the job done of deflecting bullets but not absorbing gforces from vehicular impact. kevlar helmets are also expensive so why not buy a nice certified motorcycle helmet, you are going to ride a motorcycle in a city right? not in a battlefield cuz if you are you need more than a helmet to help you out.:D

sagutin ko nalang ito. kasi I have a kevlar helmet din na ginagamit ng mga riot police. pinapintura ko ng flat black. original color nya is camoflage.
the reason why i use it is because, it compliments my cruiser. pamporma lang kumbaga. lalo na kung cruising lang papunta ng tambayan.
