newbie here... got drenched kasi from my last ride last sunday... it was happy and sunny in the morning and then in the afternoon it suddenly got dark then water started pouring out from the sky.

All I had was my flimsy jacket that's good for a little drizzle but when the rain started pouring, it was next to useless. I wanted to stop sana and wait for the rain to stop, but there's no nearby shade I can make "silong".

So what rain gear would you recommend that will keep the rider dry even in the wettest storm? :D

Sabi nga ni Raul Manglapus sa mga kababayan nating pinay noon sa Kuwait during Iraq's first attack, "If rape is inevitable, just lie down and enjoy it". Not that I agree with what he said pero in your case, if heavy rain is inevitable, just move on and enjoy the ride. Pero kung papasok ka pa lang, mas maganda may rain gear ka. I ride a Jet 100 scooter, gamit kong rain gear un raincoat na poncho. There's a similar thread in the forums.

is it a) dahil malaki akong tao?!
b) mataba ako?!
c) all of the above!!! wahh!!!!

Pero i saw a nice "Poncho" at Recto. Di ba parang "Tolda" ang materiales nun, yung nakita ko maganda. Parang silk na waterproof. Hindi makapal, hindi rin manipis. pero medyo costly, about P1500.

I recommend you get a Poncho or butterfly(di ko sure kung pareho lang yan :D) and a rain gear. I am using both, why kasi may times na habang nakamotor ko bigla na lang uulan and I dnt have the time to wear the jacket and pants as my raingear. Rain gear I wear if ever na madilim na kapag aalis pa lang ako.

I suggest that you PM our ride buddy bro accs(yan ang MCP handle nya), may shop sya sa kalookan and he offers this rain gear that I am telling you about. Terno na po un pants and jacket and the good thing is di sya halatang kapote :D

ride safe under the pourin' rain :D

i bought a rain suit in sta. lucia east mall when the rainy days started. it's only available in xl pero ok lang. it's less than 300 pesos when i bought it. also bought those advan rubber boots for around 280 pesos. they were a bit high so i cut off around 2 inches from the top. btw, the pants are nice and big. it would go over the boots so water really has no chance coming in. nowadays i have a "tank bag" that contains nothing but rain gear. pero at least, ride pa din sa ulan! :)

At first, i use Poncho but now im using a regular raincoat na transparent which is separate (pants/jacket). i bought it @ Divisor worth P200.00 only. It really helps me to fight heavy rains like this morning. :C

Nakabili din ako nyan. Actually, 19.75 nga lang sya e. Manipis lang na plastic. Pero handy rin pag talagang emergency. By the way, I use a pair of upper jacket and pants na nabili ko sa SM Dept. Store for 149.75 tapos suot ko yung Rain Riding Boots bought from 2211works for only 100!
