View Full Version : Airbag Jackets: Ready For Primetime?
Vmax May 21st, 2008, 08:59 PM I'd certainly feel safer wearing one of these, but the price is quite prohibitive at this time. The gray touring jacket looks really cool, but is expensive and won't be available till August 2008.

That would be too bulky under a typical motorcycle jacket. Will you bring in the full airbag jackets here Ryan?
ryan May 22nd, 2008, 12:56 PM Yup we will!
But actually, I think mesh vest is more than enough if you like air bag system. It won't look too bulky cuz you have to place the vest over your existing motorcycle jacket.
anthonyjcrocks May 22nd, 2008, 01:17 PM Awesome technology....the price I guess is considerably good because we are paying for new technology from R & D...

I prefer the full jacket. Keep us posted Ryan. I'm keen on getting one, especially the touring kind. Thanks.

jodes June 14th, 2008, 06:55 AM good day. am interested with these safety gears. just got a question: after a certain accident and your jacket activated, can u still use it or its just for single use? what i mean is after activatioon , where can you have it refilled w/ air again? or its just for single use, once it activates u cant use it again and need to buy a new one.
ryan June 16th, 2008, 09:37 PM Yup, you can get a new C02 canister for your jacket :)

Please go to www.rs-taichi.com and click "textile jackets".
Better yet, please visit us at Motoworld nalang to see the actual jacket.

jodes June 17th, 2008, 09:15 PM sir ryan, jus been at trinoma motoworld this afternoon. saw the airbag vest of rs taichi. where can we purchase a new CO2 canister just in case its been used/activated? any discounts just in case we'll be getting more than one vest as a group? am really interested on having one but the price is really costly

Wow...i love the RS Taichi technology...and honestly, I love the vest too because for short rides to the market, I could use this...the only thing is, the price...hehE! but anyways, like i said earlier, its worth it.
ryan June 18th, 2008, 04:43 PM You can get it from us. It shouldn't take too long to reorder especially since RS Taichi customer service is very good.
Yup, vests are costly but actually, our prices here are among the best even compared sa Japan.
mayk_bam June 18th, 2008, 06:28 PM sir, how much po ung mga rain gear dun sa rs-taichi website?
jenjadnaed June 18th, 2008, 09:35 PM ay naku po.... ang ganda nito... mahal nga lang
commander007ph June 19th, 2008, 08:44 PM does other jacket brands also offer these jackets?
d'virus June 21st, 2008, 12:32 PM hmmmm. TBH i'm a bit skeptical at the moment........
what can it do that an armoured leather suit cant? (or a cheaper armoured mesh jacket for that matter)
what safety standard test has it gone through?
is it approved by any prestigious product tester?
can somebody please advise...
i'm more than willing to purchase the product if it is really worth it as i'm a firm advocate of wearing the proper gear ALL the time..

pepe1275 July 23rd, 2008, 09:38 PM this is one of the best protection that you can get if your budget allows it.:)
motorsafe July 23rd, 2008, 10:22 PM armour jacket gives you protection against abrasion while airbag give you protection against abrasion and impact. and is usually the impact that cause serious injury like broken rib etc.
