Modus operandi..or mode of operation of the mentioned varies but it all sums up that there would always be a victim.
Just recently i was made aware of this DUGO DUGO gang.

And most of us are familiar with Albert Cornel and Noliven Aguilar's MO.
Here's another ring that uses friendster.com wherein i was a victim myself. (-:
A con artists makes a profile using other peoples information and pics and establishes a relationship with the victim...(ako po yun) eh eh eh!
Then after months of exchanging msgs either via YM or SMS, you develop some bonding..
Then "nagkaproblema" ang con artist na ito and needs money. I had little to spare so i gave what i could.
So i did send via western uniun and when i did, WU would not take her ID daw and this rang a bell in my head.
So i asked her what name should i send the money too, and she came up with a story na sa manager ng WU branch na lang ipangalan but i came to figure out that it was her real name.
So i knew i just got conned but i played the game still.
I managed to make her come in baguio.
I asked her if she could send some one from manila to bring down an enormous amount of cash and she said that she will send someone but in the back of my mind, i know it was gonne be the real her that would come in baguio to get the "money".
I breifed some friends sa law enforcement.
So when she did come to baguio, and when i confirmed that that is the con artist, she was cuffed and brought into custody.
Unfortunately, she had no priors and i did not have a solid evidence and it was more on my words against hers.
She was set free.
I know the story is sort of vague but my point is that it happened to me and if clarifications are needed, feel free to ask.
Im very sure that there are way lots more of ways how these crooks and cons work and my and some of our fellow riders knowledge are limited.
So please if there are other MO's that you know of, do post it.
It could be by sharing a personal experienced or what you heard or learned.
Lets increase our chances of not being prey or victims to these kind of people.
