ok yan sir invest ng gears.

Kazuya Mishima January 23rd, 2008, 01:53 PM ^oo nga bro. kaya uunahin ko muna yung safety gears bago ko bilhin yung motor. yokong magasgasan ang malaporselana kong kutis eh...:nuts::nuts:
maverick 15 January 23rd, 2008, 02:28 PM If you want to go for the basics a mesh jacket, gloves, knee/shin guards, and a DOT approved helmet. Some riders neglect the shin/knee guards but stats say the the lower limbs have the highest propensity to be injured in crash or minor accident.
NSCB January 23rd, 2008, 02:46 PM very good question....to be sure the helmet you are buying is really "DOT" certified...but the branded ones and buy them from authorized dealers para makaiwas ka sa imitation helmets....
Kazuya Mishima January 23rd, 2008, 02:55 PM nscb: i was thinking that the helmets has some sort marking that indicates it is DOT approved, or something. so i assume yung mga brands cited by artbike are all approved?
Ichthus Janz January 23rd, 2008, 03:57 PM nscb: i was thinking that the helmets has some sort marking that indicates it is DOT approved, or something. so i assume yung mga brands cited by artbike are all approved?
Kaya dont buy helmets from just any other store. Dun ka na sa authorized dealers like what Sir NSCB said (expert sa helmets yan si Sir NSCB, marami akong natutunan sa kanya). Kung nasa 2K pataas ang budget mo sa helmet Zeus is the most affordable while HJC is the No1 selling helmet in the US. Index is also good (and cheap) but not all models are DOT certfied.
zeke_ January 23rd, 2008, 05:52 PM i would recommend a Snell/DOT helmet, FOX or Pole Position body armor and knee/shin guards
like this. for reference only ahihihi

Hakz January 23rd, 2008, 06:35 PM Let's see... it's all about kung ano ang taste mo e. :D
here's my quick checklist (for-the-tight-budget) *personal preference lang ha :D
Class - Name - Price - Where to buy (pwede din sa iba syempre :D)
Helmet - Zeus 805/803 Solid Color - 2k - Motoworld
Jacket - Alpinestars Mesh Jacket - 2.8k - ezRiderph(forumer)
Gloves - Pokal Knuckled Gloves - 1k below - Overdose(forumer)
Knee Guards - Scoyco K07 - 1k - (kung saan saan :O)
yan, for starters and tight budget riders. then expand from there. Good luck, and ride safe
Kazuya Mishima January 23rd, 2008, 08:26 PM ayan ganyan nga. ahuhu lagpas pala 5k. uutayutayin ko muna pagbili salamats hakz

You can start off with just a good DOT helmet and mesh jacket, then get knee guards and gloves. You can also watchout for used items being sold here at the forums for a lesser price.
Heres my Daily commute set for your reference
Helmet: HJC CL12 P3,000/Zeus 2100 P1,600
Gloves: Fox Pawtector P800
Jacket/Armor: Joe Rocket P3,500/Fox 2.0 Armor P2,500 (used)
Knee/Shin: Fox Raptor P 3,000
Boots/Shoes: Sigma Touring boots P2,000/Highcut BB shoes (P2,000+)
D&G January 24th, 2008, 02:11 PM Kazuya Mishima

Bro, if you're going to wear a helmet, go for a full face helmet! Kagaya ng kay ZEKE. Half face helmets only offer HALF the protection a full face helmet does. I've seen a lot of patients with jaw, lip and teeth injuries from motorcycling accidents in my work, some of them so severe it would make your mother cry. You don't wanna be one of them.
Kazuya Mishima January 24th, 2008, 02:34 PM oh i see. ganun pala yun. oh well, pipili na lang ako ng di gaanong flashy colors siguro para di mukhang racist (karerista) ehehe racer pala. if full-faced, mas ok ba yung tinted kesa sa clear lang?
zeke_ January 24th, 2008, 03:03 PM i have to agree with sir D&G. go for full face. para protektado talaga yung malananghel mong mukha :) konting adjust lang at masasanay ka rin. get a padded mesh jacket na rin. meron nabebenta dito sa forum 2,800 lang and knee/shin guard. ride safe po!!
Ichthus Janz January 24th, 2008, 03:37 PM if full-faced, mas ok ba yung tinted kesa sa clear lang?
Depends on what time of day you always ride. If you ride during the day its better to get tinted face shields to protect you eyes from the sun's glare, but if you often ride at night better go clear. Some might argue that they would just flip up tinted lenses when they ride at night but that defeats the purpose of having face shields in the first place. If you do that you might get dust or bugs in your eye causing to lose focus and vision, and much worse have spill.
If you can get a spare tinted lens (since most helmet have clear lenses when you buy them) that would be better.
go for a full-faced helmet bro. wag matt. hirap imaintain. :D
bikermerc January 24th, 2008, 05:52 PM Always go for the best gear that your budget can attain.Do not have a mindset that you won't need quality gears coz you'll never get into any spill/accident...you can never tell, and these gears are your only protection against injuries.Madaming gears dyan na very affordable and does its job very well.

Modular helmets are OK (basta DOt certified ha) but full face helmets still offer the best protection. Medyo praktical lang nga ang modular in some cases tulad ng example mo. But if you'll be getting a modular helmet dont ride with the chin part open, make sure you close it otherwise your lower face will be as exposed just like wearing a half face helmet.
Both Zeus or Spyder have a good models. Go for the glossy finish just like what Brother Haks recommended.
shan January 24th, 2008, 06:39 PM sir ito talaga for starter need mo

That's a good helmet, if you have the cash for it! Very expensive. don't know how much exactly. Wait for the MCP guys to tell you just how much it costs. If i were you, I'd go for what they guys recommended. A HJC or a Zeus helmet with prices ranging from 4k to 7k would be good enough for me. Magaganda at quality na mga ito bro. I know original arai helmets costs way more than 10k!!! More than double that figure pa siguro for other models.
Hakz January 25th, 2008, 11:19 AM Arai helmets? they range from 10k+ to 30k depending on the model and condition.
If the helmet is priced around 16k, bibili na lang ako ng ibang gears. :D
Stick with zeus na lang sir. It's the bang-for-the-buck riding protection helmet

btw, ok ba arai helmets? may nabasa akong review na pinaka comfortable daw sa writer yung arai helmet. pero parang di ba to sikat na brand? if ever meron ba nito sa pinas? may idea kayo magkano price range?
Arai helmets are excellent!!! Its very expensive though, a cheap arai will run you in the 20k range.
If you have this name in mind, Why not go for AGV. Its Italian and one of the most known racers -- valentino rossi -- endorses it. So it must be good.
The cheapest go for 7k -- some even lower if there is a sale -- and the most expensive run you at around 40k.
act2000 January 25th, 2008, 07:22 PM Lolong jackets are probably the best local made motorcycle jacket in the market. Its the best because its made to order -- so the fit is excellent. Besides mr. lolong is a pretty cool guy.:) Go for him.
Kazuya Mishima January 25th, 2008, 08:53 PM arai ko nga hehe jusmio. nabasa ko lang kasi sa isang article about how to buy a helmet.
Saka madaming katabing ATM machine yan.
Good luck sir sa paghahanap mo ng helmet... good buy talaga ang Zeus pag medyo low budget ka.
batousai January 25th, 2008, 09:13 PM Kazuya... Bro advice ko lang wag mong tipirin ang helmet!!! excuse sa mga naka Index mga Bro but I was with someone nun naaksidente sya and Index ang helmet nya when I check him I was expecting that wala sya tama sa ulo cause intact ang INDEX helmet nya pero I notice may blood sa ulo nya... then when I check yun ulo nya, may mga 2 inches na putok ang ulo nya and guest kung saan galing??? sa INDEX!!! na helmet nya kase may turnilyong humiwa pa sa ulo nya!!!! kaya instead na i protect sya ng helmet nya eh yun pa ang dumisgrasya sa kanya... gusto ko nga itapon yun helmet nya nun nakita ko eh...
Zeus lang ok na... for your budget
batousai: helmet? may turnilyo? frankenstein ba yan? :)
arai helmet is the best for me sorry sa mga naka agv etc..
sa fitting and yung pading sa loob ok sobra and the size too, yung iba ksi ang laki ng helmet hindi proporsion sa head kahit fit sa loob..
mahal talga ang arai pero when u see the technology grabe sobrang quality
may sticker na snell approved sa loob..this is the best helmet i will recomend to any people..basta pag japan gumawa its quality talga..
another thing to keep in mind yan when buying a helmet ah
Hakz January 26th, 2008, 12:07 PM parang di ko napapansin na may turnilyo ah. bakal ba? baka modular kaya yun?
another thing to keep in mind yan when buying a helmet ah
it doesnt matter. keep in mind the "manufacturer" rather than the "design" :)
your best choice is a Zeus 805 or 803.
john m flores January 28th, 2008, 11:19 AM Some riders neglect the shin/knee guards but stats say the the lower limbs have the highest propensity to be injured in crash or minor accident.
+1. I've read a couple of studies that found that the majority of injuries were in the lower extremities (legs). As someone who recently broke his foot when a car cut him off, I highly recommend a good set of boots.
Also, when buying an armored jacket, try to buy one that fits well - the armor won't do you any good if it slides out of the way upon impact.
And a good DOT full-face helmet of course! They've saved my life and skin more than once!
Happy shopping!
blackracer15 January 29th, 2008, 04:29 PM salamat sir.....

I'm saying this for you to be safe and not to ridicule your helmet bro
you wont notice it cause it is covered by a plastic on the outside...
Kazuya Mishima January 30th, 2008, 01:50 PM ^yeah i saw it na. wala pa din ako helmet eh :l
