View Full Version : riding in an eroded EDSA......
ricci May 30th, 2003, 12:57 AM :o specially now that it's the rainy season the streets around manila and EDSA in particular will start to look like the moon.
if and when there is a steady flow of traffic in edsa, my experience is to try and follow a vehicle (not so close) where the tires are positioned and not right smack in the middle where the vehicle travels.
the reason here is you can anticipate the vehicle in front of you as they try to avoid any holes or debris. whereas, if you are in the middle chances are you may run into a hole or debris.
cool!:C

But while for the meantime we are allowing others to lead us, always think and SEE for yourself as well. Who knows, it may be a moron or a blind man who is ahead of you.
;)
mctown May 30th, 2003, 03:22 PM How bad is EDSA now? If I need to go to QC, do you recommend passing through C5 instead?

mctown,...it could be worse. i passed edsa yesterday from ortigas to pasong tamo ext. and the stretch from crossing to guadalupe has patches of asphalt that seems to be breaking apart.....so you'll have to watch for potholes and loose gravel. same direction.
yeah! C5 is a better route.
keep cool!:C

GShoCK May 30th, 2003, 03:36 PM whats weird is that when it rains here, the asphalt seems to get washed away?! the NLEX for example, i just came from way upnorth and on our way there, the rain was already strong, but the roads are still fine, we got stranded there for 2 days and finally the rain calmed down and so we headed back to makati, however, on our way back, the roads werent as flat as they were when we went on our way there, it was so bad they made detours in the unpaved side roads which is like BUKID! allthrough out our journey back to makati, the roads werent flat and water puddles hid the deep and nasty potholes!

yeah:D ...third class asphalt man for the third world streets....:*
GShoCK May 30th, 2003, 03:55 PM my guess is that construction people here mix the asphalt and the cement by feel rather than using exact measurements to make the precise mixture that would withstand the elements! grabe, our Van felt like a jar where all of us inside got rattled and shaken!
wrong wolf May 30th, 2003, 04:29 PM you get what you pay for. these officials keep "spending" money on repairs. you can just guess how much kickback they get....

They should put the
[B]THIS IS WHERE YOUR TAXES ARE GOING[B]
near the drainage so that we'll know that all our money goes down the drain.
