View Full Version : Perfect riding jacket for the Philippine climate
dacqx November 29th, 2007, 01:26 PM My aunt who's coming back from Canada this December 15 asked me kung ano daw pasalubong ang gusto ko. I told her that I need another pair of riding jacket but I'm still thinking of the brand and model. Can you guys help me out please? I want one that's perfect for the Philippine climate. Ang init kasi ng Komine JK-409 thought it's a mesh type.
NSCB November 29th, 2007, 01:29 PM ask her to get you a mesh jacket with removable inner liners which you can attach back in the jacket if you want to use during rainy days.....choose ka na lang ng brand & style that suit your preference.....browse ka sa internet...dami choices...
Col.TED November 29th, 2007, 01:31 PM Joe Rocket mesh jackets would be the best choice...Phoenix, Rio, Ballistic etc.:)
NSCB November 29th, 2007, 01:49 PM ok lang leather bro...for long rides...pero kung pang everyday...pulmunya aabutin mo dahil sa pawis....mesh is best suited for our climate here in the Phils.

I like the designs of Alpinestars, can you suggest a model Bro? TIA
Col.TED November 29th, 2007, 02:14 PM mainit pala ang JK 409...balak ko pa naman sana ito..:(
Ichthus Janz November 29th, 2007, 02:51 PM Get the AGV sport Aero Hybrid... Parang Joe Rocket Reactor yun. Perforated leather yung sleeves tapos mesh yung torso. Best of both worlds yan, I'm getting one Feb next year.
NSCB November 29th, 2007, 02:56 PM @ichthus
good suggestion bro....any idea how much it would cost?

Icon November 29th, 2007, 03:04 PM For me...
Hands down the ICON Line...
Either the Tarmac, Merc, Merc Stage 2, Battlecry, Timax 1 & Timax 2....
All of these Ive owned or currently own & not only felt very comfortable & but felt safe using them. Since the gear will be coming from up North, i think ICON will be a wise & perfect choice. Why get one a brand that you can get here already, pabibitbitin mo lang tita mo.
NSCB November 29th, 2007, 03:04 PM @ichthus
tnx for the link bro...
dacqx November 29th, 2007, 03:14 PM Thank you guys for your inputs! Any additional info would be much appreciated.
@Ichtus_Janz - The AGV AeroSport 2 is at the top of my list now. I like the design and the tag price. :D It's way cheaper than the JR Yamaha textile jacket w/c was my first choice until you introduced AeroSport 2. Oh by the way, does this mean you'll be selling your TiMax come February next year? :)

Can't sell the TiMax bro, my wife has thing for red fashion. But if can get her a better jacket I might reconsider. We'll see. AGV Sport is good choice, great protection and value for your money. And besides you wont get any of those here.

Less than 500 pesos each.
Buhat nang makabili ako
di ko na muna ginamit ang
pricey jacket ko na nabili
almost 4k.

if your into a jacket that suits the country's climate try mo yan. search mo sa forum. i myself have 2 of these jackets the first generation type and new one. ok sa protection at mas lalong ok sa ventilation kahit tanghaling tapat byhe mo.
fieldsheer December 4th, 2007, 02:13 PM Check out Fieldsheer and their HIGH TEMP MESH jacket. It was made specifically for those hot summer months in New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada. Believe me it gets hotter there than it does here in the philippines.
The only problem with Mesh jackets is that it may keep you cool but you absorb the full impact of pollution, especially for city rides. I've found that its easier to manage a little sweat compared to pollution + sweat stink.
SOUL_10 December 7th, 2007, 05:06 AM i have Joe Rocket Rio and Teknic Supervent Mesh Jacket
try to visit this site... http://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/accessoriesandgear/mesh_jacket_comparison/index.html
TIP ko sir get JOE ROCKET Rio or Phoenix 4.0
