View Full Version : Where to get leathers in PI?
KaZmuT May 27th, 2003, 07:31 AM Is there a place where we can get custom-made leathers? Like vests? chaps? jackets? I have ukay-ukay leathers and they're great but a little hot. I'd want to design my own jacket and vests or get designs from the net and let them create one for me.
Boots .. I have a source na :D but for the others? ANyone can help out please do.
XXX May 27th, 2003, 08:38 AM Kazmut,
As far as I know, there are a few places up north that are under contract from foreign brands to manufacture leather suits. Not sure tho' if they sell them locally.
There is a shop inside Rustan's Cubao that specializes in adjusting leather suits. I just can't remember the name but I know that a lot of bikers have their suits adjusted there. Maybe you can inquire with them if they make made to order suits. I'll post the name of the shop as soon as I remember it or better yet, if anyone knows about this shop, please post the name on this thread.

i might be interested in this too. i have a teknic suit that's just a tad too short for my torso. Hopfully i can find a place i can have it altered coz if not, i'll have to put it up for sale. sayang. :(
Mean Streak May 27th, 2003, 11:31 AM That shop is Glenmore -- they did good work on my Joe Rocket Blaster jacket. :)
Yes, they do chaps and leather jackets to order. I think their main problem is finding good quality leather that will hold up in a crash situation, that's why they haven't gone into suits themselves.

Look for Boy Santos at 9117583 (Cubao) or 9417075 (Marikina factory).
Spank It October 20th, 2003, 02:31 PM I have had boots, pants, saddle bags and a few other items (cough) made to order from leather shop on Fields Avenue in Angeles City. Its down past Kokomos but before Blue Nile bars.
Generally very good quality workmanship and you can get decent leather. Never had a problem with their stuff but I am not sure if you will get decent colored racing leathers made up there.
If they can't at least its a good excuse (for guys) to visit the town to party.
:*
katsch October 21st, 2003, 11:27 AM thanks a lot for the reply, mean streak!

katsch August 24th, 2005, 08:59 PM after more than a year.. it is again time to look for the glenmore connection.
my goretex coleman just gave way after 2 years. my glenmores of old with their rubber tire soles never do. they just turn old.
help please if anyone knows what happened to the shop. i am told that the old recto branch now has a computer shop. and that the cubao branch has burned down(?). the marikina city hall says there is no such name registered.
can a kind soul help please?
wulf August 28th, 2005, 01:02 AM ei,katsch,it's your lucky day :punk: . Glenmore is now at the tropical hut building across from national bookstore quezon ave...small shop near the qwek-qwek stand...was very surprised to see them there
katsch August 28th, 2005, 01:49 PM will visit the place soonest i can.
thanks a lot!
will update you on my next aircraft tire-soled riding shoes that will turn so old i get tired of it.

for the first quarter stormers or those who know what a road runner is, glenmore is indeed where good biker wulf said it was.
got myself a new one, yup the one with the aircraft (?) tire sole. yup the one that just gets old but never gets wrecked.
maraming salamat, wulf!
godric21ph October 20th, 2005, 02:17 AM pabigay naman directions papunta ng glenmore. i'm not that familiar sa cubao kasi. tnx
cycleplanet October 20th, 2005, 04:06 AM you can go to www.spidi.it there you have the link for philippines shop in manila ,. Adios Amigo = spidi are chick pullers :) = turn you into good looking (joke)
katsch October 20th, 2005, 10:03 AM pabigay naman directions papunta ng glenmore. i'm not that familiar sa cubao kasi. tnx
erase cubao.
we are talking quezon avenue here. just follow instructions given by wulf from his earlier post. pity i keep on forgetting the street perpendicular to quezon ave where shang is.
from delta on the way to edsa, it is on the right side way beyond maalikaya but definitely before the street going to abs-cbn.
katsch October 20th, 2005, 12:40 PM glenmore stall on tropical hut across crossings. both are on the corners of scout borromeo and panay avenue.
finally i find out that it is scout borromeo that intersects quezon avenue and that is where you turn right coming from delta on the way to edsa.
text oty at +639185738386 and set an appointment before coming over.
surely it sounds like i am pushing for glenmore but be assured it is for no personal gain. just to support a pinoy enterprise that can churn out something we bikers need without any dollar drain.
but for dollar earners, this one is indeed a chick magnet:http://www.xpdboots.com/jspxpd/products.jsp?id=18
most especially because kako has stayed red and black.
isn't that cool?
Jake October 20th, 2005, 04:22 PM katsch,
There's also another branch in RUSTANS CUBAO.
The shop is inside the mall area, so don't look outside. The best parking lot is the one between the Marikina Shoe Expo & the Bus Terminal. walk across the street right into the mall, down the stairs and you'll see it on the left.
They do have a lot of experience with leather suits. The services they have are:
Cleaning/ Dry Cleaning
Conditioning
Repair
Replacing sections of damaged or worn suits
They can even put a hump on your suit
Refitting leather jackets
Perforating leather jackets and suits
Put your name or patches on the suits/ jackets
I even think they do some leather dyeing too...
They have done work on Dainese, Spidi, Teknic, Joe Rocket, Buse, Spike and a lot of other brands.
Thier work is very immpressive and clean. I'd recommend them to anyone. I had a leather suit ventilated (nilagyan ng butas para sa hangin, para di mainit) and they gave me a discount from P3,000 down to P2,500.
Ret is very nice and she's accomodating, but don't get a quote on the phone, they have to see what the jacket or suit before giving a sure quote.
btw, she is the daughter of Mang Boy the owner of Glenmore, so you will be well taken care of and given the best price.
The contact information is the following:
Glenmore Leathers
Ret Santos - VP Operations
0919 6604007
office : 941 7075
But if anyone is interested, You can get leather suits with the Teknic leathers distributor at 0917 4602429
jashcom October 20th, 2005, 07:23 PM If you are going up north, dropb by at Dau and you will find leather jackets. Mostly air force leather jackets. Prices will range from P1000 to P1500 a piece.
