Bamboo Helmets from Roof

French helmet manufacturer Roof has come up with a new helmet made of bamboo…yup, bamboo fiber.
From MCN..
Don’t rub your eyes or pinch yourself - this is the real thing. A motorcycle helmet made from Bamboo you can buy.
It’s the Roof R06 Bamboo with a shell constructed entirely from bamboo fibres that passes the E22-05 safety requirements for helmets.
Roof is releasing this as a limited run due to be out in the coming month. It costs £189.
Now there’s something that we can produce here!! I’m gonna get me one of these!!

189 Euro or 13K. Wow! Ang mahal! Siguro kung dito ginawa yan wala pa sa kalahati yung presyo. Calling DOST!

At 189 pounds sterling, more or less P15K - lets do the economics:
1 helmet wont use up 1 whole bamboo;
say P200 for 1 whole bamboo which will directly benefit the bamboo farmer or gatherer; say P1800 for filipio labor rentals and local taxes. P13,000 for resins, plastics, alloys, nylon derivatives, etc. and equipment made in france from china (??). perhaps the bamboo comes from china too.
no thank you. it’s good as a novelty item only.
