I am new to the site but i understand that many of the cyclist with the small cc bikes want to have rights to travel same roads as the big bikes. But what i would like to comment on is if you did take a poll of how many big bikes swerve in and out of traffic even when sitting a red light you would see that it is 1 out of 100 only to the small bikes. I own 2 big bikes and a small bike myself so i can ride either way either to the local market or take a cruise. I have just witnessed first hand a small bike that has been involved in a incident and left the rider serverly hurt due to his negligence to safety and the motorist that drove the vehicle was almost involved in another accident due to the small bike. And another point is that you never ever see more then 2 riders on a big bike unlike small bikes with 4 plus riders wearing no safety gear or any respect to the babies that are being transported. So with that said i agree keep the small bikes off the major roads for the protection of the motorist and the small children that have no choice when the irresponsible adults ride them in multiples with total disregard to safety.

I agree with RonM, matter of fact riders with smaller bike are less careful than big bike riders.

I don't see much big bikes swerving between cars and truck or changing lanes without even taking a look in the mirrors (when they have mirrors).
Most of the time, big bike riders are wearing safety gears not just short and sleepers :)

So first before claiming access to the highways, it could be good to show safer attitude while riding.

Then everybody will agree banning motorcycle on highways will sound kinda stupid or a discrimination :)

Last question, aren't tricycles 125cc and above ?
Everybody ready to see them on highways ? Think about it :)

I ride my 125cc bike for my daily commuter then the 400cc for joy rides.

Why won't some underbone riders accept the fact that if all the underbone riders are let through the expressways the roads will be more hazardous.

take note:
1. which type of motorcycle are visible on the streets?
2. which type of motorcycle would you normally see swerving around narrow roads?
3. keeping in mind how small an underbone is, would a 10 wheeler truck see it if it's zipping along specially at the right side? they wouldn't even hear your horn or your open pipe.
4. if a below 400cc bike got into an expressway during night time, would it be visible enough for a tall vehicle traveling at 140KPH and the weather condition is foggy? you're reflective jackets won't save you.
5. a below 400cc bike is running in front of a wide vehicle and the bike is preventing the vehicle to go on any faster. another faster vehicle will try to overtake the wide one on the back of the bike because it is unaware that there's a small bike in front of it. what will happen? when the overtaking fast vehicle tries to cut in the bike will be hit by it's rear end.

face it. non 400cc bikes are road hazards on expressways.

btw.
yung mga galit sa mga pro banning sub 400cc bikes ang sinasabihan nila ng isip talangka.

SANA MAGKAISA NA LANG TAYO MGA RIDERS AT WAG TAYO MISMO ANG MAG AWAY AWAY. LET US ALL RIDERS MAKE OUR PRESENCE FELT BY UNITING AND CONDUCTING ONE BIG RALLY RIDE. SANA MAG INITIATE ANG MPF AND AM SURE THIS WILL HAVE THE IMPACT THAT WE BADLY NEED TO OVERTURN THIS UNFORTUNATE DECISION FROM SOME DISSOLUTIONED PERSONS/AGENCY..

i recently exited at the susana(muntinlupa) exit coming from manila. and one tollway officer told me about the banning of all motorbikes as implemented as of Aug 1st, using the SLEX. Upon returning i entered the Alabang tollway and it was just as nothing was implemented. So whats the real score.

I bought my big bike to use it to go to work, and be able to pay gov't taxes. From laguna, it is very convenient to use the expressway at 60kph. Now that bigbikes are banned, from 45mins to manila, takes me 1.5 to 2hrs... Only in the philippines that they're banning bigbikes from expressway! What can we do? wait and hope that a better lawmaker will come to save us all.
cheers!
