Motocross of Nations Challenge Go Team Philippines !

The annual FIM Motocross of Nations event shall be held in Budds Creek , Maryland, USA this September 23, 2007. The last time this event was held in the USA was 20 years ago , so this event promises to be a big one !

The Motocross of Nations is the premier motocross event sanctioned by the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and features an annual competition among National teams fielded by many of the FIM’s affiliated federations. Established in post-war Europe in 1947, the famed event has run uninterrupted since that time.

The 61st renewal of the world’s longest-running motocross championship will be held September 22-23, 2007, in scenic Southern Maryland, at Budds Creek Motocross Park. This will mark just the fourth time in all those years that the Motocross of Nations has ventured beyond Europe…the others were New York State in 1987, Western Australia in 1992 and tropical Brazil in 1999.

Thai riders bag MX Masters of Asia plums

STA. MONICA. PUERTO PRINCESA CITY – Defending champion Arnon Theplib and Arongkot Pinpon came up with classic acts as they steered Thailand to a sweep of the titles in the 2007 Puerto Princesa City Motocross Masters of Asia FIM-UAM Asian Motocross Championships yesterday at the world-class Sta. Monica Racetrack here to bag the Mayor Edward Hagedron Cup.

Theplib, who had slow starts in both races, left a lasting impression on the huge crowd with his amazing rally that bagged the centerpiece Asian 125 crown and the Mayor Edward Hagedorn Cup against Aussie champion Kane Scanlan in this event supported by the City of Puerto Princesa, Aboitiz 2GO, Oakley, the Philippine Sports Commission and Asian regional promoter of event Xtreme Worx Philippines.

Foreign champs due for FIM-UAM Motocross MOA

The 2007 Puerto Princesa City Motocross Masters of Asia FIM-UAM Asian Motocross Championships scored a record high of 13 nations participating in the country’s highly-awaited biggest motorsports spectacle set to unfold March 24-25 at the Puerto Princesa City motocross racetrack adjacent near the City Hall.

India was the latest to confirm with the addition of Karan Gautam in the centerpiece Asian Pro 125 division of this event supported by the City of Puerto Princesa, Aboitiz 2GO, Oakley, the Philippine Sports Commission and Asian regional promoter of event Xtreme Worx Philippines.
Aside from host Philippines, the other countries that have earlier confirmed were Dubai, Mongolia, Thailand, New Zealand, Hongkong, Australia, Guam, Japan, United Kingdom, Indonesia and China.

Preparations near completion for FIM-UAM Motocross Masters of Asia

Preparations are about 90 percent complete as Puerto Princesa City gets ready for the 2007 Puerto Princesa City Motocross Masters of Asia FIM-UAM Asian Motocross Championships on March 24-25 at the Puerto Princesa City motocross racetrack adjacent near the City Hall.

Puerto Princesa City Mayor Edward Hagedorn, Vice-Mayor Lucilo Bayron and City Administrator Atty. Agustin Rocamora relayed that renovations on the race track are on its final stages and will be ready for practice by next week in time for the arrival of the foreign delegates in this event supported by the City of Puerto Princesa, Aboitiz 2GO, Oakley and the Philippine Sports Commission.

“The race course design is more challenging and technical than last year, making the title hunt more unpredictable for Filipinos and foreign riders alike,” said Arthur Valdez, vice-president of the governing National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association (NAMSSA).
