Another video from PSupt. Gilbert Cruz. Might give the authorities higher up a better insight into how these crimes occur before coming up with ridiculous laws.

Fake Plate, Stickers and Papers

Posted by mcphils On August - 9 - 2007

Much has been said about Makati Police Chief Gilbert Cruz’ You Tube Video Series about Criminal Modus Operandi. I salute this forward thinking officer for using the internet as a platform for this kind of information.

One of the more interesting videos there is about fake plates, stickers and papers. This can definitely help us or at least guide us when we deal with our transactions regarding our bikes and/or cars.

DISCLAIMER:
Some readers have been reporting that some of their legal papers display the characteristics of the fake papers in this video. Please be advised that this is posted as a general guide for users of this site. If you have any doubts regarding your paper’s authenticity it is still best to consult with either the LTO or TMG.

Manila to Ban Tandem Riding

Posted by mcphils On July - 31 - 2007

Here we go again.

After having just escaped the helmet sticker ordinance by the MMDA, newly elected Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim wants to ban tandem riding in the city of Manila.

From ABS-CBN Interactive

Motorcycle riders in tandem may soon be a thing of the past in Manila if Mayor Alfredo Lim will have his way.

Lim on Monday urged the city council to draft an ordinance that will prohibit having more than one rider on a motorcycle.

The mayor, dubbed “Dirty Harry” for his no-nonsense approach to criminals, said various crimes, including murders of activists and journalists, are committed by suspects riding tandem on motorcycles.

Lim said the proposed measure is better than the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s plan to require riders to post their motorcycle’s plate number on their helmets.

Oh brother when will this madness ever end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ASIAN SUPERCROSS set for Taguig

Posted by NAMSSA On July - 11 - 2007

Mongolia is the latest to confirm its participation in the second leg of the FIM Asian Supercross Championship on July 21-22, 2007 to be hosted at the new Fast Track Circuit in Upper Bicutan, Taguig City (fronting Camp Bagong Diwa).

This development brings the number of participating countries to nine, including Japan, UAE, Indonesia, Thailand, New Zealand, Guam, China and host Philippines in this event sanctioned by the National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association (NAMSSA) and promoted with Xtreme Worx Philippines.

Mayor Freddie Tinga of Taguig hailed this to be the biggest motorsports event to hit Metro Manila in its history, with nine countries participating.

The organizing NAMSSA also announced that the last day of practice for local riders will be on Sunday, July 15 as the track will closed until the official practice run on Friday, July 20. All competing riders are likewise advised to have their numbers on both sides and the front number plate of their bikes.

But more of the focus will be on the expected intense battle between defending champion Aaron Theplib of Thailand and the Philippines’ 11-time champion Glenn Aguilar.“This is the first time in years that an international motocross event will be staged here in Metro
Manila. This is a big chance to catch up on Theplib and impress our countrymen here in Metro Manila. I’ll give it my best,” said Aguilar. Standing in Aguilar’s way is also Michael Robinson from New Zealand.

The Asian Junior 85 cc., on the other hand, will be another equally thrilling battle among Thailand’s Arongkot Pinpon, Indonesia’s Bobby Van Kempen and the Philippines’ Jenzen Manuel. In the 65cc Mike Callaway from Dubai and Anastasia Kirana from Indonesia have confirmed their participation.Likewise, local riders from as far as North Luzon and down to the Visayas and Mindanao will be joining the said event, thus making it the biggest Supercross event in Metro Manila in its motorsports history. An equally exciting side event is the second leg of the San Mig Light Mountainbike Sprint that shall traverse a five-kilometer race on the Supercross track on mid day of Sunday of the main event.

The Fast Track Circuit is just 15 minutes away from Manila and promises convenience for both riders and spectators as it meets international safety standards with perimeter safety fences, rest rooms for participants and public, clubhouse, cable TV, billiards hall, medical room and the works. Chosen categoires shall be awarded with Castrol R4 Moto Engine Oil, as it has race proven performance of which is being used by the riders.
