The NAMSSA ( National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association ), thru this International Affairs manager and Director Generale, Macky Carapiet the governing body for motorcycle sports in the country today and affiliated with the Federation Internationale de Motocycliste ( FIM ) - has appointed Maico Buncio and Benjo Mendoza to represent the Philippine Team for the upcoming Asian Road Race of Nations event to be held in Tsukuba Circuit in Japan on May, 13, 2007.

According to their past records of wins as members of NAMSSA and in good standing they shall carry the Philippine flag in this competition in Japan together with 15 other Asian Countries. The format of the race is that per county fields in two riders and the best two riders points accumulative shall count to award the nations cup to three places. There shall be 30 riders on the grid, namely from other FIM Asian affiliated federations in Japan, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Macau ,Hong Kong, Singapore, Guam, India, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Korea, Taiwan.

The riders shall be using prototype 150cc four stroke solo models for the event of the machines provided for the Motorcycle Federation of Japan. Equal machines provided to all the rider and can only tune suspension and tire pressures shall be permitted.

The five round asian tour of the race of nations for the racing season of 2007 shall be held in Japan, Indonesia ( 2 rounds ) Macau, China & Malaysia, in the future the Philippines is trying to bid to host this event.

Since it inception the NAMSSA main aim is to create national grassroots racing in the eh safe atmosphere and manner in order to harness the good riders in our sanctioned events, in order to elevate them to international competitions of exposures in order to elevate them to the world level. This has already been fulfilled by NAMSSA by sending their Philippine champions to Asian and World level of events. This is the best training a rider can get to achieve their goals of success.
