While listening to a morning radio talk show while checking MCP, I overheard NCRPO Director Vidal Querol state, again, that motorcycle riders riding in tandem are one of the things being closely monitored because of incidents of kilings involving them.
I really won’t be surprised if they actually push through NCR wide with banning backriding on motorcycles. So following their logic, they should also be monitoring cars with 2 passengers. So they better closely monitor them too. And we all know what being “closely monitored” means.
The stereotyping continues.

The article of Jesus Erle Sebastian merely strengthens this STEREOTYPING of motorcyclists.
And that is why, contrary to any one who sides with him, Mr. Sebastian has to issue a public apology, if only to show to non-bike readers and TG’s general readership that the Philippine motorcycling community is aware of its problems and is working hard to solve them.
His article, and the sterotyping of motorcyclists by non-bikers makes it doubly hard for all of us to help find suitable solutions to the problems we (bikers) are all aware of.
i think what they shoul do is to intensify their intelligence network, its not that riding in tandem should be banned.
whatever the vehicles they are using, bikes or cars, there are still those person who want to harm other people.
I have been a witness to a number of crimes involving criminals riding in tandem. This is a dilemma facing us law abiding riders. This matter should be studied carefully by authorities to avoid stereotyping. Maybe common sense should be applied here.
And common sense is sadly what they don’t posses in large quantities.

Riding in tandem? How about when i have my girlfriend as my backride? Would that make us criminals? They have billions in “intelligence funds” and all they could come up with is this idiotic view?
To the Philippine National Police, et al: WAKE UP!!! You people should get out of your comfy offices and see what’s happening around you.
Good example, and this is already sooooooo common: Why do vehicles (MCs included) sport tinted glasses over their plate numbers? That is a direct viloation of LTO rules and regulations that the plate number should be VISIBLE at all times and no accesory should block out one’s vision when looking at it. Point here: criminals and non-criminals alike can now get away with doing ANYTHING simply because the vehicle they ride in CANNOT BE IDENTIFIED. This is a clear VIOLATION of the LAW. BACKRIDING IS NOT. If a criminial or imbecile driver runs over your mother/father/spouse/sister/loved one and you cannot identify the vehicle through the plate number because of some fashion accessory, good for you. Maybe you will start to act on the real perpetrators of criminality, not on the general motoring public who can’t afford luxury tinted SUVs. By the way, most MC riders/backriders are from the middle class, who diligently pay TAXES and in the end PAY FOR YOUR SALARIES and “intelligence funds” which you so much enjoy and feast on. (Yeah deny pa kayo!)
Stop harassing the law-abiding and taxpaying citizens, go after the REAL CROOKS! You know who they are…
Common sense is what they really need nga… Heck, by the way, do they have “sentido kumon”??… Just asking… Wag lang bira ng bira ng kung sinu-sinong riders na may back ride, baka pati mga kapatid nating bumbay na riders at angkas asawa nila eh pagdiskitahan din (HEHE!)… and worst, baka kikilan pa ng iba.. Saw some SWAT Teams diversifying their business along Shaw stopping all people in motorcycles big and small.

Kahit kailan naman puro naka MC’s lang hinaharang sa mga checkpoint lalo na dyan sa McArthur Highway hindi nila alam na yung mga kriminal o mga hitman eh nakabisikleta o kaya nilakaran na lang sila. Puro papogi lang naman yang mga yan! Dinadale e yung mga bulok-bulok na scooter na alam nila na di pa naka-register kaya mapipilitan yung mga me dala na makipag-negotiate sa kanila!

Dati nung minsan naka-scoot ako eh hinabol ako ng mobile pinatabi ako tapos eh gusto niyang tingnan yung mga papers pinakita ko naman, ang offense ko lang nun eh yung walang helmet yung misis ko kasi sinundo ko siya at medyo malapit lang sa amin. Tapos kung anu-ano pa ang mga sinabi na kesyo nakita daw kami sa highway na paikot-ikot daw , as in pagala-gala, sabi ko eh di tiketan nya ko kung ano yung nasa batas. Nagulat pa siya at tiningnan yung partner niya, parang akala nila eh maiisahan nila ko, sabay sabi sa akin na ” Sige na sige na…” sabay alis. Reverse psychology…
Experience lang one time sa check point, i was flagged down, i was wearing my full faced helmet with dark shield, bawal daw sa MC riders ang dark shield, di daw makita ang mukha, i got out of my bike and took my helmet off, tapos nag-intay ako ng mga super dark tinted na cars and vans, then asked the police officer kung nakita nya mukha ng driver….. aba… aba… niloloko ko daw sya… papaano daw nya makikita ang mukha ng driver eh naka dark tint nga ang sasakyan nila. Sabi ko, bakit di mo i-flag down, di mo rin pala kita mukha ng driver?….. aba ay lalong nagalit…. tama ba naman yon?
