Moving to a new Dedicated Server
24
April
We’ve been very busy preparing to move to a new dedicated server we recently bought for MCP. Since our first migration last January, the current server we’re running on is already close to its capacity despite lot of optimizations
on the back-end.
The new server is a Dual Opteron 246 with 2GB of ECC RAM, dual 160GB hard drive (the 2nd one is for backup) running on Red Hat Linux. This is much faster than the existing AMD 64 3800+ we are on and should be able to deliver more efficiently to better your browsing experience on MCP.
The migration should be done within the week and we will post updates here so everyone is notified of the schedules.
Thanks.

I am a fairly new member of the site but have been following it since 2003–only because I have not found time to actually log-in, register and utilize the forums and the classifieds.
But it has been a swooping 2 months for me, having seen major improvements in the look (as mentioned it as new tank and seat graphics and a really cool paint job).
And now the guys at MCP are having the engine ported, polished, rebored and doing a totally wicked engine mod–for the server, I mean.
It is so exhilirating to be part of something that constantly improves and evolves for the sake of the community is serves (or servers…hehe). My many hats off to the guys in the backroom.

Cheers! Again the best in life for the best.
Safe ride.

Congrats to the upgraded server and running with Linux RedHat.:) Hopefully the new hardware will last and improve the server service much better. Thank you!
