Adding more RAM to the box
24
February
Earlier this morning, we added more memory to the server. It should help ease your surfing woes here at MCP but we will know if that upgrade is enough on Monday noon when traffic is at its peak.
Thank you for your patience.

I tried to surf this morning around 8 AM and I observe that its performance got better compared in the previous weeks especially in the forum section.
Try to surf again after lunch to see if there had been improvements.
Thanks guys!

Thank you, MCP! We’re so fortunate to have this site free of charge! Think about all the things this site has given us - new friends, business/job opportunities, gatherings, etc. So less/no complaining, please? Im sure the guys and gals behind the scenes are doing their best.

I’m still reconfiguring the mySQL settings as well as lifting the server load restrictions. Let’s see tomorrow noon if this pans out.

What’s happening to MCP is analogous to what’s happening to our planet. Hindi na siguro niya kaya. So many forums and replies may be too heavy for the forum server. Mag hinay hinay nalang siguro tayo. And limit the use of heavy pictures especially in large glaring signatures. This downtime is not the first time that this happened. We should have foreseen that it may happen again (just like the environmental disaster caused by humans before that led to their demise- Mayans, Aztecs, China, the dust bowl, Angkor Wat, etc.) This resource (MCP Forum) is free to us (just like earth’s resources). We should not misuse and exploit it but rather sustain it for future generations.
