The venerable Honda Super Cub motorcycle is the best-selling vehicle in the history of internal combustion, and there are now more than 60 million of them on the road. That’s an amazing figure that speaks to the strength of a 49 cc motorcycle Soichiro Honda designed 50 years ago, helping spur Japan’s eventual rise to dominance in the motorcycle industry.

Hot in the City

Vespinoy\'s Hot Sweaty Shirt

With summer just about to end, I find it a little bit odd that things have started to really heat up lately. Rain has been steadily falling in the afternoons and you hope that will cool down the rest of the day or at least cool down the city to make the heat of the next afternoon arrives. But no, it’s been really hot lately and I have been forced to bring a couple of extra shirts to work to change my sweaty (literally dripping wet) shirt lest I catch pneumonia.

This is the first time in a long while that I’ve found the need to bring extra clothing. I have been able to handle heat pretty well for quite a while but I guess the added humidity has made the conditions just right for profuse sweating. Hay carramba.

So, a word of advise to the urban warrior, bring a shirt, you’re gonna need it.

CMC Summer of 2008 Ride to Batangas

Posted by mcphils On May - 7 - 2008

A meeting was set on March 3, 2008 and due to bad weather only a handfull was able to come.

A sms received from VP Buds asking if the ride scheduled for tomorrow will push thru and I replied that we have to cancell because no one confirmed their intention to join the ride..

With the initiative of VP Buds he was able to communicate with other members that are signifying their intention to join the ride. So it was agreed that upon that assembly time begins at 5:00am at Tambayan…

The following morning Sunday May 4, 2008 I received a sms from VP Buds inquiring my where abouts, at that time Iam preparing my self for the ride..

I arrived at Tambayan aroung 5:30am sorry guys, late sleep the nite before hehehe…there I saw our Aspirant Sir Moonraker, excited for his first Official Ride and group ride being his first time…. mind you guys he arrived at tambayan 5:00am, he is joined by VP Buds, followed by Sir Arjay and Wife then Sir Lamok and Wife..

After some lengthy discussion the group headed for Batangas at around 6:30am… The destination? Calatagan Batangas… First in mind was the beach previously visited by the group together with HRCP, but it is now a private beach…so we look for an alternative place.. luckily we were able to find one and with magical word of VP Buds we were able to get a discounted price… we only pay for the rental of cottage and no entrance feewas collected…

Before we proceed to the beach the group went to the market to purchase some pork and fish. We feasted on grilled liempo and tilapia, thanks to Sir Lamok our marketing manager and Sir Moonraker and couple Arjay and wife as our chefs.

We enjoy the cool and clear water of the beach and luckily it was a little overcast so we dont have sunburns hehehe…. VP Buds able to capture an eel he is a good fisherman…hehehe…

On our way home, we have a stop over to watch Polo Game in Calatagan, and wake boarding in Lagro de Oro…

At tambayan, we wave goodbye with each other for a nice and safer we had…

Till next time… Thanks You…

List of Riders:

With some of the motojeepney members at shell off Flintridge exit at La Canada California

By Jojo Medina
Motorcycle Philippines Federation Director

They call themselves MOTOJEEPNEY (a spoof of motogp) but the skills of these groups with regards to riding sportsbikes is no joke. They do weekend rides at Angeles Crest a mountainous stretch of smooth asphalted canyon roads in Los Angeles California and alternated with some weekend rides at different race tracks around Southern California like willow springs race track this May. And Laguna Seca in July were they let go off their skills in a controlled race track environments.

The past Sunday April 27, I was lucky enough to be invited by this group of riders mostly in their 30’s and their mid 40’s with jobs from healthcare, information technology , businessmen etc Everyone has met at the forums of MotorcyclePhilippines.com. Rainer Santos aka Fireblade r and Francis Roco aka Rider_driver were in constant contact with me in arranging the ride with them. As far as I know rider_driver has been with mcp since 2003 like me and still very much active.
