Forum Search temporarily disabled
Due to recurring database problem during peak hours (usually 11AM to 3PM) especially in the forums, we’re trying to figure out how much the search functionality of the site affects the overall load of the sever.
This should only be for just two or three days until we get enough feedback if the same database errors are still showing during peak hours.
This is where we will really need your help, by providing feedback as to the performance of the site, esp. the forums.

Upgrading MCP Forums
In a short while, we will be shutting down the forums for a scheduled upgrade.
This new version will fix some vulnerabilities as well as other bugs found on the previous version.
The timeframe for this upgrade could be anywhere between 15 to 30 minutes.
Thank you for your patience as we are working hard to make your time here at the MCP enjoyable and error-free.
Upgrading the MCP Blog
In just a short while, I will be upgrading the Wordpress installation of MCP’s blog.
The upgrade should take at most half and hour as we will just update it to the latest version. The affected part of the site will just be the blog.
All other sections of the site like the forum, classifieds and gallery will remain functional and active during the process.
This is just a heads-up to those who might see some errors while browsing the portal side. Thanks.
We’re looking for a few good scooteristas.
Scooterista Magazine is expanding and we have some openings on our sales and editorial team.
Contributors
We’re looking for writers, photographers and graphic artists who feel they’ve got a story to tell. We’re looking for people with a good sense of humor, excellent writing skills and of course, riding experience is a plus. You will be working on a freelance basis for the magazine, with work or reviews to be assigned on a per project basis. Contributors shall be compensated on a per project/assignment basis.
Correspondents
We’re looking for riders from around the country who can cover events and do features from their home town or provinces. Excellent writing skills, a good eye and email access are what we need from our correspondents. Since submissions will be done remotely (through email and/or digital files), applicants must have access to, or own, a digital camera and computer. Correspondents shall communicate regularly with the Editor in Chief for ideas and will be compensated on a per submission basis.
Advertising Account Managers
We are looking for TWO (2) driven individuals to join our sales team. You must have a college degree, excellent writing and verbal communications skills and a passion for the scooterista lifestyle. You must also have at least 2-3 years of sales experience (not necessarily in publishing, but this would be a plus) and be able to come up with sales proposals and marketing gimmicks that will best serve the interests of our clients and our own magazine. Attractive compensation package awaits.
If you think you have what it takes, we’d like to hear from you.

Bizarre Pinoy-made Scooters amuse the world!
Above is the image used as a teaser for this Saturday’s (Dec. 9) Vespa Attack II: Invasion Philippines!
Honestly, I initially thought the image is a product of some Photoshop manipulation; but it turns out to be an actual shot from an actual race event that took place in 2005 during the Imbayah celebration of our Ifugao brothers up north. The now famous photograph by Sly L. Quintos (déjà vu photos) has captured the fancy of numerous websites that features unique, funny or bizarre images and contents the world over. Well, it’s actually no surprise since it surely does look very surreal. Even most ordinary Filipinos wouldn’t know these things ever existed in our very own backyard. It looks more like a scooter that a ficticious character like Fred Flintstone would use, not by real men in these modern times. Read the rest of this entry »
