Durian Postpones Pasko Paskooterista

Posted by mcphils On November - 30 - 2006

Due to the approaching super typhoon Durian, and in the interest of everyone’s safety, we are POSTPONING the Castrol/Scooterista Pasko Paskooterista Party from Dec. 2 to Dec. 9, 2006.

While we are all in party mode, we feel that after the storm has passed, we should all be with our loved ones, ensuring their safety and making sure that everyone is ok and out of harm’s way.

Please take the time to keep your families and homes safe before the storm hits Manila (expected to hit by Friday morning).

Thanks for your understanding and we hope you all stay safe. We will see you all on December 9th!

Sincerely,

The Scooterista Magazine Team

The last round, which was previously announced to take place on November 26, 2006, also at BRC, was postponed, due to the unavailability of a timing system (transponder) operator for that day. This was relayed formally in writing to the NRA by Mr. Rodini Rivera, Operations Chief of BRC.

In line with this welcome development, an entry will pay the standard registration fee of Php1,800, and only Php700 for the transponder. Standard transponder rental per entry is Php1,500.

Regulations for the Dec.10 races will be the ff:

1. Participants racing twice in the same category (UGP, 110GP, Maxi Mod, 400 Unlimited and Super 125) will only be paying for one (1) race. It will be a “buy one, take one” scheme.

2. Participants in the Super 110 class who have previously raced in the first two rounds (July 30, 2006 and August 20. 2006) will race for free. However, they have to pay for their third race of the day. Any rider who did not participate in the previous rounds must pay for the day’s entry. Points for this category will begin from zero. First two Super 110 races of the day will have standard points, while the last race of the day will have double points.

(Note: Regulations #1 and #2 will only be applied to the same race class. It will not and cannot be applied to two different race classes.)

STA, Barbara, Iloilo — Glen Aguilar underscored his claim as the country’s most successful rider in history, topping the three-part Camel Supercross International Championship Series 2006 and winning his 10th national title before an adoring crowd at the Sta. Barbara racetrack.

Pushed to the limit by last year’s Asian Supercross champion James Robinson of New Zealand and fast-rising Kenneth San Andres, Aguilar rose to the challenge and turned doubters into believers with another spectacular performance in the season-ending race organized by the National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association (NAMSSA) and sponsored by Camel.

My Riding Experience with SRC

Motorcycle Philippines : SRC Ride Report

If I would rate my group riding experience, I would say that I have little to no experience. It was the second time for me to ride with this group. I learned a lot from these guys and I had a lot of fun because all the members were comfortable within the group.

The day started off with everyone gathering at Total Gas Station in Valenzuela. We waited for everybody and made sure that no one will be left behind. We took off at around 630AM. The weather was perfect, the roads for the most part were in good condition.Around 70km away from our meeting place, we met up with the tres amigos and grumpy at McDonalds. After a few minutes, we took off and that was when the fun and excitement began. We passed by long straight roads and twists going up and down the mountains. What I liked about this was that everyone stayed organized and kept their pace.
