Alternative PHP Cache installed

Posted by yuga On May - 16 - 2006

We’ve just installed APC on this server.

Alternative PHP Cache (APC) is a free and open opcode cache for PHP. It was conceived to provide a free, open, and robust framework for caching and optimizing PHP intermediate code.

In short, this should make the server running even faster and pages loading quicker since PHP scripts are cached. Although the new server has been doing its job just great, we’ve gone ahead and do some more tweaks to support more and more members going online at the same time, especially during peak hours of the day.

There might be some bugs though. If even you noticed some “page not found” errors, please report back to us with the URL.

Thanks.

New Gallery now open

Posted by mcphils On May - 16 - 2006

With the content of the old gallery really just too confusing and mixed up to sort, we have decided to open a new, moderated, gallery. We will still do our best to import the good photos from the old gallery but the going won’t be short nor will it be easy.

Expect a delay before your photo is posted on the new gallery since all photos now pass through moderation.

Thank you very much.

The new gallery is here.

Photo Gallery Closed

Posted by mcphils On May - 13 - 2006

We have received a report of offensive material on the photo gallery that has compromised the entire website. This has long been a worrying issue to us because of some of the content inside the photo gallery, namely scanned photos and photos lifted from other sites and photos of people in unflattering and compromising positions.

We shall be conducting a review of the contents of the gallery and come up with a decision soon if we will re-open this one or create a new moderated gallery.
