The Xplorer Riders Club went on a different kind of ride this past holy week. Going on a “Visita Iglesia”, a long standing lenten tradition in which Catholics try to visit as many churches as they can.

Why not promote Motorcycling?

Posted by BoyG On April - 27 - 2006

In these trying times where gas prices seem to jump up with frightening regularity, it’s really a wonder why the government has not taken a more pro-active stance in promoting the riding of Motorcycles as an alternative mode of transport.

Moving to a new Dedicated Server

Posted by yuga On April - 24 - 2006

We’ve been very busy preparing to move to a new dedicated server we recently bought for MCP. Since our first migration last January, the current server we’re running on is already close to its capacity despite lot of optimizations
on the back-end.

The new server is a Dual Opteron 246 with 2GB of ECC RAM, dual 160GB hard drive (the 2nd one is for backup) running on Red Hat Linux. This is much faster than the existing AMD 64 3800+ we are on and should be able to deliver more efficiently to better your browsing experience on MCP.

The migration should be done within the week and we will post updates here so everyone is notified of the schedules.

Thanks.

Checkpoint!

Posted by mcphils On April - 23 - 2006

Forum member Kamikaze shares with us his experience in a checkpoint somewhere in the vicinity of the C-5 Katipunan Flyover.

Unfortunately this report is not the first and most probably will not be the last. With the increase of “hot” bikes and cars on the roads, expect the law enforcers to also increase their actions which means more checkpoints and more “raids” of popular hang outs. Basically a repeat of what happened a year ago which was reported in an old thread here.
